When i quote you skruples something goes wrong so im just gona write the replies here.

The scientists in that video did not say how likely life is, they were talking about OUR galaxy only.

It is possible Jesus read the prophecy of His revealment and fullfilled it, but i dont think His birth place was a setup, His mom a virgin, His hands and feet would be pierced, He would be given vinegar and gall to drink on the cross, the family He would come from and lots of other things. The dead sea scrolls were the old testament before the new testament was added and it all was edited. There are a lot more prophecies than the ones about Jesus.

Living honorably does not mean to live like a pack of wolves or fish, look up the meaning.

What event made us know we would all be wiped out? Did we change ourselves or are we overprepared? Why do two people in the same environment have opposite personalities?

Mohammed lived where people were desperate for order and religion, Jesus was rejected by His own people and killed because of His claims. Mohammed lived longer and was more traveled than Jesus. Most of the new testament is based on Jesus so it did change society.

Ive never heard of this magic trick where you can see dead people, can you give me an example? I understand that if people really believed and were desperate to see Jesus they might see something, but touching his hands and feet and over 500 people seeing Him....

The bible was written in Greece, Turkey, Jordan, Egypt and Isreal over 1500 years by 35-40 different people. That would be kinda hard to do with a false god and no technology.

I do believe Genisis goes along with science for creation if you change days to billions of years and know that the sun was created on day 1 not 4. "Let there be light" big bang. Water and clouds forming and indirect light, then land, then algae, the sun shines through atmosphere, fish, then land animals...

We barely give Him maybe 2 hours a week, why should He be active in our lives when we give Him next to non of our time? People do see how He works in their life and miracles and things...

gullible, this coming from a man who believes that the universe is 6000 years old.

I never said i think its 6000 years old. It MIGHT be more like 25,000 years old. But still, millions of ADVANCED civilizations in our galaxy alone. From one of his favorite science books.

yea 25 000 that "much" better. And i don't believe that there are millions of advanced civilizations, but i do believe that there are intelligent life out there.

Ok, i will try a billions years. Yeah there might be life, we dont know, but millions of advanced civilizations is just crazy. And he believes it just because a nut cake says it. I dont think there are even bias sites who claim to have evidence of that.

i dont think that you are in a position to call anyone a nut cake, since you seem to think that the univers is 25.000 years old.

Ive seen evidence that it might have happened. Nobody knows how it all happened, scientists only have theories.

Jamdude, address my questions I posted on the last page.  If God has always existed, then why did he only create life within the last 7-10K years.

Now you are backtracking on your Genesis beliefs.  How old is the Earth?  Even if you go 25K years it doesn't account for how we can see the light of stars that would require at least 10.4 million years just to reach Earth, such that we may see it.

Here's where I see the problem.  Since this thread has been running I have done my own research to many of the questions posed by the religious side of the debate.  I found one website regardinging Genesis that I believe sums up the religious side of this debate.  The bottom line of the article is that Christians must teach Genesis, and all other parts of the Bible, as factual, no questions asked.  The reason is nothing more than if Christians allow science to poke a hole(s) in any one part of the Bible, then the validity of the whole Bible is open to debate on its validity, and that simply isn't accpetable.

There's no way some of the people in the bible had mental issues. Everything that happened was a miracle right? They couldn't have just been slightly gone and seeing crap and then telling gullible people like you about it. And again, why would god create an entire universe (which he could easily govern or watch over it in its entirety) and only create one small planet and leave the rest barren? And since things cannot just naturally evolve (I mean nothing has changed at all in human physiology over the last two-thousand years) we must ask you where god comes from? do you even believe that we evolved from cavemen, or do you think we always were like we are now? You think that our resistances to diseases haven't changed? Our abilities to do certain things better than others based on heritage?

We know some people have weight problems because of their family. That right there says evolution exists. Certain people will get certain advantages and certain ones will get disadvantages. And guess waht, the ones with the advantages are going to have a better chance of surviving in comparison to the people without them. We've had a long time to evolve from whatever we evolved from. And as technology at times goes by leaps and bounds, it doesn't seem that strange to me that when we were such simple creatures, we found something to help us get along, an advantage over a different group of simple creatures. From there a group of that group found an advantage, and so on and so on. Soon after enough advancements, we came to being cavemen. From there we learned and learned into what we are today.

So with that I think it is very possible that a random amount of carbon and other molecules could have possibly breeded something as simple as bacteria somewhere else in the UNIVERSE. Even with this you can say some will day, but from these very basic organisms can come more and more over time. So I believe out of the billions of years of existence, that it could be possible that there are civilizations elsewhere. I believe science limits this too much sometimes, because they only say that creatures could exit by OUR standards. I'm sure there are creatures that could live in different environments from us, and until we find them, we'll probably just believe its not true, but I think its very possible that there's something out there.

BBUUUUTTTTT, this doesn't disprove god. So don't give me that argument. Like I've said before, I don't believe in a diety, but it is possible that some higher power set off the big bang or whatever was the catalyst for our existence and evolution. But I think that if there was a god out there, he not our creator or an almighty judge. He doesn't care whether we worship him our not. Hell, he doesn't even consider himself a god, he probably just thinks he's more advanced than us. With all of that said, I'm sure he's just some being watching over us, trying to help us out in a subtle way. He's not some dictator who will condemn you for not believing in him, or some little kid with a magnifying class just killing off his creations for fun. So yeah, I can see it from both ways, its just a little different from how you see it.

Compared to God the universe is tiny. The bible says God has no beginning or no end, He has always been and always will be. I believe we adapt and change for our environment but i dont believe we change species. Science does not have fossils that show the steps of one species switching to another. I dont think that people with mental issues could right books about things that will happen in the future. And most miracles have more than 1 person seeing them. I would like to see your answers for my questions on the other page. Dont just make excuses on how they didnt happen and its all false ect. i want to see reasonable answers to all of them.

So what?  The Bible doesn't address why the universe is so large, has so many stars and so many planets, to create life only here.

There you go, an easy answer.  God created light already on the way.  You have no proof what so every, and the Bible DOES NOT mention this as the way it was.  You have NOTHING to contradict this except your Christian Answers web site.

I figured as much.

Agent, the bible doesnt say how old the universe is, it could be 15 billion years old or it could be 25,000. Nobody knows for sure.

Pascal had an intersting theory on life

Its a gamble, if you dont believe in God and he doesnt exist, you dont gain/lose anything. If he does, you lose all (Hell)

If you believe in him and he doesn't exist you lose nothing, if he does you have everything to gain. I myself, am a stout believer in the creator, our saviour and the Holy Spirit

Hmmm, that is an interesting departure from what you Bible thumping creationists have been touting through the better part of this thread.

So which is it?  Is the Earth and universe thousands, millions, billions of years old?

If you go be creationism the Earth is only a few thousand years old.  Anything older than 25K maximum kills Genesis.

Now here lies the paradox.  You have quoted the Christian Answers web site time and time again.  Are they right or wrong?  If they are right, then the Earth is only a few thousand years old, but now you are saying that no one really knows.  Are you doubting your faith, or are you simply faltering under the fact that the Bible, as a verbatim doctrine, does not stand up to scrutiny.

Sorry dude, but this is one of those cases where you can't have your cake and eat it too.

I did a little exploring on christiananswers.net and found this:

christiananswers.net kids section wrote:

There are at least two possibilities as to why flightless birds such as ostriches and emus have wings, either:

The wings are indeed "useless" and derived from birds that once could fly. This is possible in the creationist model. Loss of features is relatively easy by natural processes, whereas acquisition of new characters, requiring specific new DNA information, is impossible. Loss of wings most probably occurred in a beetle species that colonized a windy island. Again, this is a loss of genetic information, so it is not evidence for microbe-to-man evolution, which requires masses of new genetic information.

The wings have a function. Some possible functions, depending on the species of flightless bird, are: balance while running, cooling in hot weather, warmth in cold weather, protection of the ribcage during falls, mating rituals, scaring predators (emus will run at perceived enemies of their chicks, mouth open and wings flapping), sheltering of chicks, etc. If the wings are useless, why are the muscles functional, allowing these birds to move their wings?
Are they contradicting themselves?

again:
Loss of features is relatively easy by natural processes, whereas acquisition of new characters, requiring specific new DNA information, is impossible
and

Loss of wings most probably occurred in a beetle species that colonized a windy island.
