Then why am I explaining such basic things? I mean seriously.. anyone who has read or listened to any up to date reviews knows this stuff.

Toshiba's Cell TV looks interesting but it's not here yet (not just the 3d stuff). OLED is also a long time away. At least for a reasonable price/size. If I had a dedicated Theatre room I'd have a Kuro. But I don't so I have an XBR4.

Seeing my brother's 42" 120Hz LCD in home environment, I prefer it over the same sized plasmas I have seen.

Compare it to the best plasmas. And again light conditions matter. Where did you buy it?

I prefer LCD because they run colder.

Either you didn't pick up on it, or you didn't bite. Out of interest, which was it?

Also I don't really know, I've only ever had experience of small LCDs and big Plasmas, none of the other way round. My brother has a 42" Plasma in his room. Heats his room better than a radiator, and screenburns like a mofo. Nice picture from it though.

You aren't going to get display burn ins with the newer top models. Panasonic is having a problem with some of their Plasma black levels. They were some of the deepest, but apparently they lighten over time. They claim that only the most discriminate videophiles will notice it though (still ). They are working on a fix.

So... a Core 2 Duo 2.8GHz CPU doesn't cut it in Lightroom when trying to both import 600 RAW photos, and export a batch of 600 other photos.. =/

This is taking so painfully long..

Edit: Screw you guys with Quad core or i5/i7

It's an older model Panasonic.. maybe 2 years old. Screenburn is very noticeable.

My next "TV" will probably be a projector or big PC monitor... you can't argue with >100" / >2048 x 1152

Yea it used to be a big problem.

minty I've been having a problem with the lr3 beta. When it opens it says the catalog is not accessible, that it is being used by another program. I had to delete the catalog to get it to work. Pain in the ass... oh well, beta.

Weird o.O How many photos are in the catalog? I've got about 2,600 in the holiday catalog (I dont have my mac back from Apple, but I decided just to edit the friggin things already *cough*) and it's going fine. But yeah, I guess it's just a Beta..

And lol Finray, that would be in the realm of complete computer upgrade. Can nay afford..

Jesus christ. I posted 50 minutes ago..

70% done. And it's not like I'm getting lightroom to resize the photos either. It's just a straight conversion to JPEG..

Edit: 1 hour, 11 mins.. finished. Way too slow. ><

You are talking about laptop that can barely handle years old BF2, so yeah its "a bit" too much asked to make every game run on it.
It handles BF2 pretty well actually.
yeah, only there is 5 years difference, gamers ususally upgrade their PC's about 3-4 years max. It would look like shit to rest of the ppl if it ran well on that kinda hardware.
You're right, it does look like shit.
