So I can't play BC2 because my Laptops graphics aren't good enough.
Does this mean I have to get a new computer?

No, it means you need more Irish Midgets running around inside your computer to give it magical power.Narupug wrote:

You tried to play BC2 on a Laptop?!Narupug wrote:

LOL
I'm actually quite pleased at how well it runs on my system.. I regard mine as a very mid-range set up, and I get a steady 30 FPS at max 1280x1024. Doesn't really work at that resolution for MP games, but at least it's barable.

It's hard to be dirt poor and play the latest games at the same time
Define decently? Smoothly?max wrote:
My mom's E5200 @ 3.4GHz with a 8800GT 512MB plays BFBC2 decently @ mid settings @ 1240x1024
So essentially I need to upgrade my graphics card (although BC2 probably doesn't like my Core 2 Duo 2.0 Ghz processor)max wrote:
I'm not suggesting you get a E5200. Socket 775 is a dead platform. But it does show that BC2 doesn't need a crazy PC to run
You forgot the most important thing, what ingame settingsebug9 wrote:
I've got a dual core (2.8GHz), 4GB RAM, and a GTX260 and it runs smooth for me on 1680x1050 with 2xAA

Onboard graphics?Narupug wrote:
Dell Insprion 1520 Laptop
Intel Core 2 Duo @ 2 GHz

Graphics and Audio onboard (Gaming Graphics get a 3.1 on the windows index)
DVD/CD Disk Drive
Am I missing something?
It's pitiful I know, but it runs BF2 okaytazz. wrote:

Truth... The frostbite engine was made for consoles, which have CPUs the size of rooms. Just another example of PCs getting screwed over by consoles yet again...max wrote:
BC2 eats CPU power like crazy. The E5200 PC is limited by the CPU, not the GPU.
A fast quad core is the way to go for BC2. Post up your specs.
At least they are not doing just a port to PC which is disaster in terms of performance.Finray wrote:

They are adding DX10 and DX11 support, and rewriting the engine for PC. With optimisations and better graphics coming in retail version.
