They have to start letting in open gays. The reason is that if the govt ever has need of the draft, people will be coming out like crazy to dodge it.
The line up at the medical will look like a full on gay pride parade.

IMO the real opposition to gays in the military is from the evangelicals who will have a tougher time pushing religion in the military when there's an open queer pushing back.

all he's proved to me is that he hasn't changed anything. yeah, he ran on a campaign of change, but for the most part he is still

implementing the policies of George W. Bush.

Until you can show how his 'changes' have impacted you, i will continue to believe he is incompetent for following Bushes policies, and i will

believe that you do not have an original thought in your head, you wannabe parrot.

That's not to say he wouldn't appreciate it if GW fingered his bumhole though.

Yep...  and somehow, some people still think we're too far to the Left.  We're still center-Right compared to most of the First World.

"Waste" is perspective.

If you felt they should've been allowed to serve to begin with and that DADT was a stupid law, then yes.

However, it IS the law, so any discharges executed under the law were not wasteful, per se. They were in line with what was required whether the person agree with it or not.

In the grand scheme of things, it doesn't cost very much to discharge someone from service. The greater cost would be any lost return on investment in training or education of that person, particularly if they were in a highly skilled position like pilot, doctor, or something similar.

15 years of active duty and I have yet to run into a single evangelical "pushing religion". Isolated incidents do not equate to a cultural consistency throughout the military, Diesel.

I have.  A couple of guys constantly invited people to their church, even after youve said no.  In 7 years I might have run into 2 guys pushing religion.  I had a 1sg that was a born again but he was always talking about pussy.  He ended up cheating on his wife during his R n R for two weeks in germany.

My battalion commander was an evangelical. There really was no getting around it. He started every battalion formation or meeting with an invocation
"Ah, you miserable creatures! You who think that you are so great! You who judge humanity to be so small! You who wish to reform everything! Why don't you reform yourselves? That task would be sufficient enough."

Killeen always seemed like it had more churches per square mile than people. Was kind of amusing. Laundry, haircuts, car dealers, fast food, churches and Best Buy. That's Killeen, TX

I do miss Whataburger and Jack in the Box

Did you ever go to that all nude place Starz? I went in there one time and one time only. Why? Because there was a seven months pregnant woman dancing nude on stage when I walked in

my old team leader's wife was a bartender there.  When she found out she was cheating on him it was right before a long ass field problem.  I had to hear about that everyday.

I went there for a wet t-shirt contest one night. The supply chick in my company was competing so a bunch of us went down to cheer her on. She was coming out last and decided she really wanted the $1000 so she walked out butt naked, did a dance and then pulled a string of beads out of her snatch. A few months later she was promoted to sergeant and that went over like a fart in church. She was probably the most disrespected NCO I've ever come into contact with

shit what was the name of that club that did that strip off every thursday night, next to city lights bvefore fuze and the other ones....Oz.   Saw a lot of that at OZ.

man, I dont know how you did it with females in the unit. When i went psyop I finally worked with em and, it was cool having ass and titties around in the field, these women made terrible garrison soldiers.  my old psyop 1sg was also a married LAPD sgt and he was banging the big breasted e-5 Orange county sheriffs deputy while they were in iraq last year.

bitches always recieved preferential treatment from pussy ass nco's that didnt wanna hurt a girls feelings.

My 1SGT got busted by his wife while banging the NBC girl. It was kept quiet and the end result was the NBC chick getting made an E-5 and turning into a flaming bitch that would disappear from work every day because she knew no one could touch her.

I hated working with females in general. They were always (except for one) trying to find ways to ditch out on work or to find a nice quiet place to hide. Because of the stupid PC affirmative action shit they always got promoted faster too. I dunno whether it was just my unit or if it's army wide but my senior NCOs were all black and looked out for black guys and women when it came time to send people to the board. I've never experienced reverse racism like I did while I was in.

I was going to say, regardless of the law, it's hard to argue that discharging someone after spending millions training them is anything but a waste of time, money and skills.
