Ken sums up my feelings on this pretty well.

In some states at least. I'm all for open primaries across the board. My card still says [R]. Otherwise, being in Fl, I'd have no voice.
errr... I dunno about that. Remember Limbaughs "Operation Chaos"?
Sure do. But I don't think it was as effective as Rush made it out to be. Have the primaries on the same day. People would rather vote for their party candidate than go out and try to (but not really) sabotage the opposition.

Glenn Beck is a joke at this stage... he's a bit of an embarrassment to America as he doesn't represent the average American. He only represents the conspiracy-theory-believing, far-right element of American society. The right-wing equivalent of Jim Corr.

Funny. I'm an American and don't feel embarrassed by him. Stop trying to project your own opinions of how Americans should view things onto us and making retarded statements not grounded in reality.

I forgot you represented all the people of America John, apologies... and besides, I didn't say the American people are embarrassed by Glenn Beck, I said he was an embarrassment TO America, i.e. other countries feel embarrassed for America when they see his paranoid rants and emotional breakdowns on TV. Outside of America he is a laughing stock... that's a fact that's grounded in reality.

By the way, I'm Irish and I am embarrassed of Jim Corr and his paranoid far-left-wing nonsense.

Well, thankfully, outside of our 'white people', no one really cares about your opinion of us

You get so protective when people voice any kind of opinion about America. You should try relaxing a bit... I do know actual real Americans by the way, I don't base my opinions on films and TV. I've been to your country (your State in fact) and I like it a lot. I presume y'all care about my opinions on America about as much as I care about your opinions on Ireland, wouldn't have it any other way.

Every time I see a bell-end like Glenn Beck on American TV I just tell myself to remember that Noam Chomsky comes from the same country... swings and roundabouts.

Noam vs Buckley. These two have had more influence on current right-left ideologies than anyone else in modern American history.

Both. Buckley basically wrote the script for Reagan and Republicans still view Reagan's term in an idyllic light.

Glenn Beck annoys me. I listen to his radio program while traveling when there is no good stations in range.
The things that annoy me is his implied conspiracy that the fed forces want to shutdown his show down or shut him up because he knows too much about the true agenda of the president and his cohorts,  he acts like his doing the american people a favor by letting them know what he, believes, he sees, the message is vague, he constantly tells his listeners to sell their gold, every thing he says is doom and gloom....it's a morning buzz-kill don't know how people can listen to this and be in a good mood.

Personally, if Glenn was a true patriot or cared about the U.S., he would of served in the Arm Forces instead of sitting behind a Radio Disc Jockey desk and mic for all of his adult life. For me, actions are better than words

FDR turned a recession into the Great Depression. He basically did everything you shouldn't do when faced with a recession but the people cheered him because they thought his heart was in the right place. He was nothing more than America's Hugo Chavez, a Robin Hood who more than likely means well but has no basic grasp on reality or how the world works. You can't govern with your feelings.

So Glenn Beck is representative of the average American? Most Americans share his opinions, his view of the world, and so on?

Why? Free country. I'm proud that he can say whatever the hell he wants. It proves that our freedom of speech is still alive and kicking if nothing else I don't have to agree with the man but I respect his right to hold his beliefs.
