One of my friends started up a band, called The Thaw Session. He's the lead singer.

The genre is Slow Dance Indie, or so he calls it...

I wasn't expecting much from them until I actually gave them a listen. They aren't bad at all. Actually, they are pretty good. He wrote all the songs and sings them. I don't know the other members.

Thoughts? They just started out, and are pretty much unheard of, I only know because I was asked to help out on the website.

I like this a lot. Rockets has got an Interpol feel to it, and Cover Me is pretty catchy. I've got a lot of time for bands that don't fall into the generic Indie persona. The Fire Man seems a bit repetitive, like it's been strung out, lyrically and the guitar riff used, which is now stuck in my head repeating over and over. Also, it feels the song is heading somewhere, but really slowly. Personally I like the ending where there's a bit of a drop, but it's too little too late.

Any chance you could provide us with a download link?
