There was an awesome article explaining how Button and his driving style could theoretically be better than Hamilton on next seasons cars (extra weight, narrow front tyres, fuel economy, plays advantage to Buttons smoother driving style)
I forgot where it was now, but if I find it i'll post it.
Also apparently a Silverstone deal is close, so hopefully there should be a British GP next season.

It was less 'competitive' because McLaren wasn't competitive so all the Hamilton fan boys were having a hissy fit.CapnNismo wrote:
Why was 2008 less competitive than 2009? I think 2009 was the most competitive F1 has been in the past few years. The teams have lost a lot of the helping technologies that were covering up the discrepancies in driving skill.
Snake is right, though - Hamilton has a much more aggressive driving style and attitude than Button. I think that comes more from experience. Schumacher (as far as I remember) was never so aggressive on the track. It was calm and poised and like a surgeon - much like Button. The problem is, and after reading that BBC article this makes sense, that Button is a much more sensitive driver.
If they bothered to actually watch the races and not just look at results then they'd know it was far more competitive then previous years.
Also Schumacher not aggressive? That's a laugh, he won at least 2 of his world championships by purposely driving into people and tried it on a third occasion but failed and was then disqualified. And for his other 5 wins, he had a car which was vastly superior to anything else out there so never had to actually 'race'. He is the most over rated, undeserving, arrogant, cheating fuck to drive an F1 car. Go watch some of his races in a Benetton and early years in the Ferrari and see how 'aggressive' he was.

Along the entirety of the 08 season, the Championship was much closer, you didn't really have anyone dominating, and it took the last race and some silly shit to happen for Hamilton to win the WDC. It was different to how 09 panned out, Button was good mainly because of the diffuser fiasco, but the car was also well designed, once things became competitive, by large, he was nowhere to be seen and kept on tripping up, it's just his dominant form at the start and the fact that nobody else could have a solid streak kept him there.
The Diffuser fiasco effectively ruined the season as there were more cars without it, than with. There was never supposed to be a double diffuser as it went against the principles of the Overtaking Work Group, it was against the spirit of the rules because they wanted a single diffuser which creates less turbulent flow behind the car and means that cars can follow each other better on high/medium downforce corners, but the FIA allowed it anyway. 2009 wasn't as good as other seasons for alot of reasons.
Now that there are clear rules for things for 2010, hopefully there won't be any silly things like the Diffuser crap of last season.

What do you fags think of the new points system?
I can see why they did it like that, especially with 26 cars, but I dunno, some argue it's devaluing just how much a championship point really meant. I just hope it doesn't turn into NASCAR where everyone gets points for just turning up
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/motorsp … 407119.stmThe new proposal will see the winner take 25 points, 20 for second place, 15 for coming third and then 10, eight, six, five, three, two and one points.

You don't have to keep on updating the OP, just leave it and just have this as the F1 thread to just talk about F1, that's all that's really needed Jens
You can edit the title yourself...
