No matter how high your KDR is against someone, they'll still pipe up in their little reedy 14 year old voices saying how they "pwnt" you.
..at least that how it was a few years ago when I actually played consoles. Maybe it's better now....but I doubt that.
All I had to do to get an enjoyable set up for racing on my pc was buy a 360 controller. I bought a wheel also but I suck with it and still prefer the controller.Mekstizzle wrote:
Racing games belong on consoles just like FPS games belong on PC's, it's usually more hassle than it's worth getting a nice setup for racing on a PC.
I really do hope they release a demo on the PS3. I watched that review and it nudged me towards buying this, but I need to see what it's like for myself.
HOLY SHIT!
Murciélago LP640 with works is EPIC.

Enjoying the demo til I get the full game, 360 controller is the way to go on PC if you don't have a wheel.
Is it worth getting a wheel for just one game? ...at least the controller could have multiple uses, yes?Stingray24 wrote:

Controller is easily good enough for Shift. Been playing with it a lot. Of course, a wheel would be better, but there isn't any fantastic driving games coming to the PC any time soon, and unless you're a hardcore racer, it's a stupid way to go.OmniDeath wrote:

You do know 1080p on the consoles is just 720p upscaled, right?VspyVspy wrote:
I play a lot of racing games and I think NFS:Shift is great. My impression is that if Grid and GT5 (Prologue) mated then NFS:Shift would be the offspring! It is still a little arcady and the lack of 1080p definition lets it down but all-round I am finding it pretty good fun.
I'm still holding my breathe for the full version of GT5 but in the meantime, NFS:Shift is keeping me occupied.
where are the sim like racing games with everyday cars
i thought it depended on the gameFinray wrote:

Don't think I'd spend the money on a quality wheel just for one game. 360 controller is great on the racing games I play on PC. But if I had the chance and the funds, I'd get a wheel to enjoy that experience.OmniDeath wrote:

You can build a nice comp for $400 bud.

If i connect my ps3 controller with the USB cable that comes with the ps3 and controller can i use it ingame?

Yes, but you have to configure it first.aerodynamic wrote:

Whoa... Can't believe these forums are still kicking.
hilarious bug
Anyway tried it and don't really like it, some cars are fine some are really hard to handle when no help option is on. For example pushing the gas for one second will send your car spinning. Like the other series more.
I don't get it, it brakes the car for me when I try to turn.

Downloading the demo. It gets my approval. I like this game alot. It seems to do a nice job of racing, reminds me of the Toca race driver series, which I liked. Except better. I can see myself playing this demo for a long time until I can master it, playing on pro with all the noob aids turned off was a challenge I liked.. Wish you could just practice on the circuits though. Need to learn Spa so I could do it blindfold
Worst excuse for a game I have ever played in my entirety of a conscious being.
This is so bad. I feel truly sorry for anyone who payed money for it.
It was a complete waste of bandwidth. Worst thing ever to grace my computer. Terrible. Terrible. Terrible.

it feels a lot like grid and GT. Not that that's bad per se, it's just really not my type of game. I much prefer arcade racers.Finray wrote:

Didn't feel at all like GRiD imo. The handling sucked. Was incredibly laggy and unresponsive, and felt like it was on a knife edge. When the handling in a racing game sucks, the whole game fails, as the handling is basically 99% of the game.Miggle wrote:
