yea should of learned it from Russians, plus U.S. was helping Taliban then against Russians, if the Russians were supplying Taliban secretly U.S. would loose soooo many more troops
Makes you think who really are Supplying the Taliban
1. Former Northern-Alliance Warlords and Afghan officials seeking for new funds to maintain their expensive prestige postion.
2. Western aid groups, sending money and naïvely transporting "aid goods" through the country.
3. Italians.
That's all just money though, I know that they get their money directly and indirectly from loads of sources, both intentional and unintentionally, but in terms of the actual weapons themselves, It's gotta be a mix of old Soviet weapons, old US weapons from the Soviet War (CIA) and new US/NATO weapons from the current War. Maybe the odd shady Arms dealer who's only interested in money.

But in terms of actual Governments, probably the closest you'll get is certain members of the Afghan government playing both sides, and also Pakistan and their ISI, I dunno.

They can have all the money but they still need to find someone willing to take it from them in return for goods.

When you know troops are going to be deployed en masse somewhere what stocks and shares are best to invest in?

What company makes hand grenades?
I'll take a guess and say Halliburton, KBR, really any company that contracts with the military. Companies like Sikorsky do provide things like helicopters, but those really don't get shot down often so the military doesn't buy that many.
I thought of PMC's but then I would assume the more troops that get sent the less demand for PMC's, so I'm leaning towards the supply of kit and ammo side. Innit
General Dynamics.

Wow! He finally made a decision?
Not offically.  He probably floating it out first to see the reaction and THEN will make the decision next week.  That's my guess.

If so I still don't like it because unless they actually fight to win it I think its a waste.  This reminds me of Vietnam when we sent 50k troops, but wouldn't go into the North, but this case its Pakistan where the real threat is.

Unless we partner with Pakistan to take out Al-queda in Warhiristan then we're not going to win this war.  Its going to be a slow bleed as the number both the number of American Soldiers and Afghani/Pakistani civilians increase...for nothing.

I bet the left is pissed at him even more.
