Game Freezes, Need Help Desperately

For some reason my Battlefield 2 will completely freeze up after 5 or 10 minutes playtime.
I have to turn off my computer and turn it back on to play again.
I've done everything it says in product help and called EA support 4 times, and it still doesn't work.
I know for sure my computer can run it. I've got a GeForce 6600GT for gosh sakes.

Anyone know how to fix my problem?

(P.S. This is my first post.)
(P.P.S. Where do you get those really cool stats things that say "Powered by Hypernia")

Yes, I have done one normal and then one manual uninstall.

After the manual it worked. But then I installed the 1.03 patch...

After about 30 minutes I had my problem again.

What are your system specs? did you just upgrade? does it do it all the time? any other games have this problem?

i had the same promble you need to update your drivers and turn off firewire you turn off firewire by

1) go into bios
2) go into Intergrated peripherals
3) go onboard 1394 and turn that off

Now for the drivers:

you need to go to GeForce drivers page which is http://www.nvidia.com/content/drivers/drivers.asp
and go Platform/nForce Drivers > you have to get several different things so bear with me

nforce4 audio driver - Download this, Named: nForce_audio_4.57_winxp2k.zip
nforce4 AMD - Download this, Named: nForce4_amd_6.66_winxp2k_international.exe

the last one i cant find it on the site but its on my computer if someone could put it on there website for him to download... or i could transfer via msn its around 20 mb. It's named: 77.77_winxp2k_english_whql.exe

Select your operating system which I imagine would be windows Xp

You need to download these files

now once you have these you need to install them in THIS ORDER!!!!!
1)nForce4_amd_6.66_winxp2k_international.exe

2)nForce_audio_4.57_winxp2k.zip

3)(once you get it) 77.77_winxp2k_english_whql.exe

IMPORTANT YOU MUST REBOOT AFTER INSTALLING EACH ONE

i had the same prob last week, did everything that chard said but still did it, noticed the light on my usb dsl modem was going out everytime it crashed..... ended up beeing motherboard was having some kind of power surge/ freak out....swaped it and now everythings fine.... but try what chard said first.

all of the new games that need the new graphics card to run freeze like this
