With all of this talk about pistol unlocks and other features, I thought that I'd throw out the idea of having a sniper kit upgrade unlock. So, how about a Thermal Scope unlock for snipers. It could come in very handy on those night maps. Now, I'm not talking about a super-crisp view for total ownage, but something to just help in stalking the enemy to a point where you can get into position to fire on them. Just a thought. Sound off on what ya think.

- IR Thermal Scope unlock for snipers
I'd buy that for a dollar.
As a matter of fact, it shoulda been included in the SF pack for nite maps.

that'd be awesome. Or just thermal vision in general- not just for snipers but for everybody on night maps
Not for anyone, only for snipers, else it get's boring like the night vision goggles
good idea - would make it a bit easier
imo sniping in sf is even harder than vanilla bf2 so this would help a lot

Why give snipers that kind of advantage? Wouldn't that be too over the top to see through buildings and stuff? Just directly see the target out in the open like that? No friggen way would that work out.
I say all classes get it or it doesn't diserve to be out at all. At least Spec-Ops. C'mon.

Er, isn't that what the UAV is for....? So you can see where the enemy are to get in a position to snipe.....
Let me try and explain what the OP meant by this post (as some of the replies have lead me to beleive not all are on his waveleight).
An IR thermal vision enables you to see heat signature. Cold items, such as the ground and buildings gets harding to tell apart, and notice small details on, while viewing through such a divice.
Light doen´t "disturbe" the image (as it would on Low-light googles).
People are bright yellow-red colours and stand out against the cold (blue) surroundings, as do reasontly used car and helicopter engines.
It doesn´t allow a user to magically look through hills, humps or walls. But would make it much easier to spot a target through bushes. A disadvange is also that the viewdistance are limited, do to the fact that the processor requerese increasingly amounts of memory to process the lightsources sent to it trought the lense.
As the op sugestted it should be for the scoop. Used for sniping and spotting, not to hunt people don´t. (As you normally dont run around while aiming).
I think it would be a cool unlock for the sniper, it both has advantages and disadvantages.

I respect that, but I still think it should be for everybody.
I've hunted targets before, on Devil's Perch. It's actually quite fun; you load up with your SVD and start firing at a guy to scare him to death, and then track him through the level from the hilltops. He'll never know you're there til you're scalping him, lol.
And the .50 Caliber Browning Machine Gun ammunition (.50 BMG) is capable of piercing some older bits of armor. If you've played Call of Duty 2 on the mission where the big cannon is chewing through the house in El Alamein, you'll know how powerful a real .50 caliber is. What I would like to see? Thermal goggles, with the ability to use the M95 to shoot through certain types of walls, like those that border the outside of some buildings that you can go into.
