Since patching, I have not been able to get the game to run. The only other difference is a new monitor, went from CRT to LCD. I've tried forcing a proper resolution, I've tried editing the video.con, it just loads to a black screen then crashes. EA support is worthless, but I'm sure I don't need to tell you guys that.

I would reinstall, but I forgot my login for online play, is that saved anywhere? I'd hate to reinstall and lose all my points

Any other ideas?

Remembered my login, reinstalled, and works now. Kind of wierd, since I didn't use any mods or anything and now it works.

This may not solve your problem, but if you're an avid gamer who spends a lot of time in graphics intensive games I urge people to stay away form LCD monitors, yes they've come a long way, but they still cant match the response times, resolution, and sharpness of image & color of a good CRT. Without knwo what monitor you have I can't help much in the way of possible solving you problem. Good addvice when ever posting andy kind of bug or crash related problem is to post your system specs at the bottom of your post, IE.

I too have a lcd monitor and the response time is 4ms which I feel is pretty fast, I also had problems losing my connection but had my modem changed out and wella no more problems. my saytem stats are as follows:

amd57 processor
4 gigs corsair low latency  pc3200 ram
asus sli mb prem.
2 wd 74 gig raptors
2 7800gtx vid cards
pc power and cooling 850 watt power supply
samsung 19" lcd monitor
x-fi fatality sound card
creative giga works 7.1 surround speakers
coolermaster stacker case: eight fans and runs cool with no water
winxp prosp2
