What if;

An army was created. An alliance of people, who trained similar to the army, in way of weapons training (obviously not full-auto), conditions training, survival training, and overall hardening.

However, this army worked for the people. This army's creation is in defence of the constitution and old america.

Would this be feesable? Legal?

Would you join?

You're talking about a militia. Yes, it is legal. No, you won't be worth a damn.

So basically a militia

The way you talk about a people's army, it's funny considering your sig.

It's also funny how you think that this army would be for the people, no, it would be for YOU and whoever wanted to join it. And that wouldn't be all the people. You'd just try to use violence to get whatever YOU wanted, and at the end of the day, it'd be just as much bullshit as all of this other crap about trying to use violence to get your means.

I thought the 'peoples army' part was pretty damn ironic too

The current Armed Forces in most stable democracies around the world are already probably the closest you'll get to a people's army. They all swear allegiance to the government, which in turn are elected by the people.

What the fuck is old America anyway?

You mean like what this guy built:

People's opinions would be too diverse to make it any more than a destabilising force in your nation. Who calls the shots? Who is the leader? What if someone else decides to set up a militia with a contrary view of how to 'deal with things'. Civil war?

A militia wouldn't stand a chance against an military that has Aircraft.

I'm assuming American militias aren't allowed apaches and fighter jets...

Its more about the morales and resistance that matters. Shit even with jets the brits still had a tough time against the IRA ya know? Jets don't do jack in urban combat. If that was the case, then we'd haul ass out of Iraq and Afghanistan already, and fuck Afghani's can't even fucking read.

Politically we might not be winning in Afghanistan but militarily the coalition wins every firefight and battle they enter. The same as we did with the IRA. The only reason jets didn't aid us is because of the potential collateral damage which would have set us back politically. The point is US militias have like tanks from the 60's and a few rednecks as infantry, they aren't going to bring down the US government any time soon.
