Yeah she rocks and sadly I was there at the beginning. Hers was one of the first cassette tapes I bought way back in the day!
Not my style personally but they were huge hits. Billy Steinberg and Tom Kelly wrote True Colors and then submitted it to Cyndi Lauper to perform it so she didn't actually "make" that one. She also had some help writing Time after time.

I dunno but the first show on MTV that wasn't showing music videos was Remote Control.
Having Real World on once in a while didn't bother anyone, since Reality TV wasn't the norm back then. Beavis and Butthead belonged to MTV, so not all non-music programming on MTV was "that of the devil". But now it's all Brooke knows best, Runs house, Super sweet jailbait, The Hills (wtf is this shit), Made, Room Raiders, a Shot of love with asian bisexual slut, From G's to Gents.
