Maybe they are worse; theirs is a God inspired insanity, and there are more Muslims than Japs or Krauts.
And so every Muslim is a terrorist (yes I read lowing's reply)?

Really? Wow, if you could just point that statement out to me I would appreciate it. If not, go ahead and retract yours.

In Reference to JohnG@lt's proposal

Well, we would need to basically go back to our status from the first decade or so of the 1800s, in order to really cut that much.

The last time we did that, we fell victims to african pirates and the Brits got pissed and burnt down a good portion of Washington...

I don't know if going that far would be a good idea.  Scaling back our military commitments and capabilities in a major way would require a complete alteration of our economic and foreign policy.  That may or may not work.
I doubt it will happen anytime soon (although I'm sure a lot of people said that in 1989 too!)
We have already cut our forces by about 40-50% in the past 20 years.

what?

this is random

yes i read lowing's reply = yes i read lowing's reply as it seemed an obvious reply to this post.

And yes I do stand by the fact that a minority, maximum of a third or so in countries with extremist governments/influence (saudi, iran etc) actually want to see shariah law imposed around the world. and a very small minority of that are willing to do something about it. hint: many muslims, like many people, don't really care that much about politics. they're people too, stop making them out to be this inherently different race/religion removed from the rest of humanity.

not. however that was a fairly obvious logical extension of atg's post. which is obviously ridiculous, hence the post.
