Clothes lines are banned? lmfao... you'd think in such a hot state... ah fuck it, not even worth talking about that one

It seems like Arnie has been in charge forever now, surely he'd have been voted out by now considering how much shit Cali is in

Except that nowhere in socialist Europe has anything like these rules. More like smacks of idiots.

Banning large TVs to save electricty = fail

I read a fun info fact that went like this

"what's white, costs less than $3.00, would save millions of dollars of electricity and is banned by every home owners assocation in California"

answer  = A clothes line

Maybe the govt should first strip those probhibitions out of HOA rules to restore peoples' choice to use clothes lines, before looking at TVs
Pfft.  Clothes lines below the fence line is fine.

Aesthetics. The nicer neighborhoods or associations do not allow you to put up tacky items on your property like clothes line, garden gnomes, etc.
They try to keep the riff-raff who put broken down cars on cinder blocks out of the community.

I have an old 32" tube TV that I still use; it takes more electricity than an LCD. I plan to get a 40" or higher LED TV. How can they say large LCD TV takes more energy than my tube TV? I think they have their facts wrong much like firearms.

What's next?

A backround check and 2 week waiting period before buying one of those "dangerous" large sized TV's?

Classic American politics.  We have a problem that could be addressed through a more efficient electrical grid and state ownership of power, but instead let's tax the consumer and force businesses to comply to ridiculous government standards.

Yep, only liberals do that

We have a Rupug governor.  He's signed plenty of ridiculous laws.  Same with politicos all over the US.  Don't be so narrow-minded.

"Arnold Schwarzenegger, the state's governor, has supported controversial proposals by the California's energy commission to impose strict energy consumption limits on TVs with screens that are more than 40 inches wide.

BTW I thought the true LED TVs were only those huge jombo tron stadium TVs and that the "LED TVs" being sold right now in stores are really just a scam because the only LED lights on the TVs are the back lights, not the screens themselves. The screens are just your regular LCD screens.

Look at this http://gadgetwise.blogs.nytimes.com/200 … an-led-tv/

So before you blow your money on the big next thing, make sure your not just paying for mislabelling.

There are liberal "Rupug"s  out there.  Don't be so narrow-minded.  Schwarzenator there is about as much of a Republican as I am a Democrat. I was attacking the policy not the party.

Aha.  That's what my boss meant when he said that his LED TV and my tv (samsung 950 52") had the same picture...  Thank you.

Aesthetics. They don't want to see each others underwear hanging up on a line. It would lower property values .

The more and more you read about California the more you think some of them really do deserve to be engulfed in giant wildfires and in a huge economic recession and all that shit. Now I guess I see where Fagman is coming from when he says that

A couple of years ago someone said they give change to the homeless?

Ban small TVs TBH, get rid of all the 10-25" CRTs, those are the power-eaters.  Decreased eye-surgery bills also.
