This still goes back to the facts that Christianity isn't the only religion in America and Christianity isn't the only religion that defines marriage.

The Bible clearly defines marriage between a man and a woman, nothing in there about race. Now other religious texts, I do not know if they define marriage between a man and woman of same races, but I do not believe that they do.
I know that Christianity isn't the only religion in America and Christianity isn't the only religion that defines marriage, that's why they held an open vote. It wasn't just a vote for Christians, it was open to all races and creeds. The votes were tallied and the decision was made. That's how it works in America.

Secondly, isn't it a bit ironic that conservatives complain about legislating from the bench, but they have no problem doing it from scripture?
The voters voted, judges interpret the laws that voters and elected officials make as well as administer blind justice.

Just look at the oath of justices and judges:

If nothing else, though, you do have to admit that sometimes what is popular must be subverted.

For example, Jim Crow laws were popular at one time.  The courts had to go against popular will to change that.
Funny, wern't the jim crow laws a democrat thing?
For the most part, yes.  That was when Democrats were social conservatives and Republicans were social liberals.

So the point remains.  Social conservatism lends itself to marginalizing various groups.

They'll teach it in schools!  If you allow "gay marriage" they (the big gay conspiracy) will force teachers to teach our impressionable Komsomol the wonders of being gay!  If you don't believe me look at one of M5Sniper's posts - it's already happened.

Run for the hills, the gays are taking over!

mucho respect to him for fighting in Omaha but it's kinda assumed that most Republicans aren't in support of gay marriage. Maybe it's a stereotype, but those don't get formed out of thin air

Stereotypes form when people take a little bit of evidence or experience and apply it to whole groups of people.

led by, perhaps.  I've seen this happen first hand.  These guys get the keys and basically lock out all that don't believe or vote their line.  Promote from within, keep the circles tight and powerful.  It spreads like cancer.

@kman! dude, necroposting... Not that there's anything wrong with that. hehe.

Necro is when you dig up something and reply with "lol", "omg", or "cool I like this". If you are actually contributing to the topic with content it's ok to post in an older topic (within reason). Better than duplicating at least.
