I didn't say they were or weren't Islamic. I'm saying that you claiming this is because they disobeyed Islamic law - when the article merely said "Iraqi values" (hint: Iraq is not a sharia nation and is not paticularly zealous in its religion. Since Islamic culture is intertwined with Islamic religion, I will still bet ya.
Islamic culture will change, they are slowly becoming more westernised, its going to take a generation or so.
I watched a program about Saudi Arabia, they know they can only move towards a more Westernised culture but they are stuck with a majority of conservative elders who think smiling is un-islamic.
We need to wait for these guys to die out, the young to take their place and change their society.

Yesterday (sorry can only find a danish link) a arab guy (palestinian) assaulted a teacher at a parent meeting, because the teacher gave hand to his daughter, he started out by spitting him in the face, then hit him multiple times, and finally when the teacher fell to the ground the arab guy bit him in the ear.
Pisses me of that we ever let people with this this stone age mentality in, rules in cases like this should be one strike and OUT!
