Lad at work got flights from Dublin to Las Vegas and a week's accommodation for ..... €450. Now that's value.

Can't we just turn off the money printers for a few years and hopefully see a slight increase?

It was overvalued, now it's correcting.

When you have a huge trade surplus as the US does it's time to devalue the currency.

Too bad the pound is also taking a dive. I will tell my unlikely to exist grandchildren about the day when £1 was $2 and how I didn't even take complete advantage of it.

Why did you feel it necessary to include a one year resolution graph of USDEUR? At a resolution of five years, the sensationalism is somewhat lost.

No that was ages ago, like a year or so maybe more. Nowadays the pound is even lower than the 'usual' amount of $1.6

Yup, who the fuck would want to invest there? Our rate is currently 3.25, with it expected to rise another 25 basis points in the near future.

Heh, 1AUD now buys 92.2 USD. Fuck, it was 91 earlier today. Time to buy some stuff from the US of A.

Inflation is the problem because its a built into monetary policy by the federal reserve.

What is more interesting about the chart is that we have never had a sustained deflationary period. If there were a free market, we should be having cycles, but we don't all we have is a constently devaluing currency caused directly by an inflationary monetary policy by the fed. We should be having a deflationary period right now to correct for all the insanity that went on but instead the fed is devaluing the dollar and the purpose of that is to inflate values/prices back up to where they were before the bubble popped.

You know the only reason for reflating the economy is to increase the assessed value of securities underlying all those airy fairy financial instruments so that the paper values will equal the estimated values used to back those securities. All this BS is to make the toilet paper printed by these large financial firms look good and to save their asses, but of course this all ignores real value which is adversely affected by inflation and its going down the shitter because of devaluing of the dollar and that's a price that every person in the US is going to pay dearly for. In short they are stealing peoples savings and retirement savings to save the crooks and bandidos on wall street.

But if you ignore all that, then, yahhhhhh the DOW is at 10,000 yahh yahhh party and balloons on wall street, they averted their own disaster by screwing us all over..... again.

Personally I am waiting for the other shoe to drop because this can not be sustainable and IMO the whole Federal Reserve system has just about run its course like a really bad swine flu. The only question is whether its going to kill the patient and then jump to spread itself via a world reserve currency.

It's a good time to get your economy going through exports. Change you need. Of course, you'll need something the export market wants to buy.. Start making Japanese cars.

Yeah think I might have to make a few trips to the States in the upcoming months to take advantage of it. Any idea who he's flying with that's so cheap?
