Hillary found the time to grab a quick pint in McDaids just off Grafton Street during her recent visit to Dublin. A fine traditional drinking establishment. The fact that the Secretary of State of the US could safely cavort with the locals is one sign of the change in opinion about America since the Bush administration dissolved away. In constrast Bush needed a 6000 person security detail on the grounds of a prestigious castle in Co. Clare to keep him away from protestors. All Hillary got was a 'when are you getting out of Afghanistan, Iraq and Shannon?' from a local. She hasn't properly answered that question, nor do I see one forthcoming soon on Afghanistan, but I for one welcome the change in attitude towards America. It goes to show that the principle of giving someone (or a nation) a 'second chance' is still alive and well.

Hillary isn't nearly as bad as my conservative friends say . Considering the other Sec of State Dem options. She's tougher than most of here democratic colleagues.

Rome wasn't built in a day and our goodwill at grassroots level won't last forever, don't you worry about that - hence the helpful reminder from the man in the pub. I forgot how well Bush worked out for ye all, thanks for the reminder....

In contrast, Hillary isn't POTUS.

Not a single attack since 911 Cam, seems to have worked out pretty well so far.

Shutting a prison down does not seem like the same effort as "building Rome". But whatever, it takes to keep telling yourself you have no love affair with this administration, giving him as much time and patience as he needs. and why? Because he has weakened America, just like Europe wants.
I just love how Europeans can so easily wrap their lips around a liar, full of broken campaign promises, and you don't even like the guy.

Apart from all those attacks in Iraq, Afghanstan etc, which have killed how many more US citizens than 9/11 did?
Bin Laden's plan was to sucker the US into sending troops to the ME so they could be attacked more easily.

Not near as many troops killed in this war than on the single day of D-Day. I see, so we didn't take the fight to them off of American soil, we got suckered into it.

Do you know why everyone is focused on Afghanistan now? Because Iraq has improved so much it can no longer be denied without looking like a fool. So you now need your negativity focused elsewhere, and this from a group that used to say the fight should be in Afghanistan.

We're not talking about D-Day, we're talking about attacks on Americans in the present day.
You say they haven't happened, its obvious they have.

Please do not try and compare deaths fighting a war as the same thing as blowing up a building full of innocent civilians. Are yuo really that desperate to prove a point.

A D- Day comparison is a closer analogy, it just does not fight your argument. ( kinda like everything else)

From Bin Ladens standpoint they are the same.

His objective was to kill as many americans as possible - Much easier if they could be persuaded to come to him than having to organise teams and send them abroad undercover.

D-Day is entirely irrelevant.

Americans and others plus terrorists killed in the 9/11 attacks: 2,993
Americans killed in Iraq since 2003: 4,262

But you're right, not a single attack since 9/11, things have worked out pretty well.
