What would happen if Heroin went away?

Just a hypothetical question, but lets say Heroin ,one of the most addicting drugs in the world, just stopped being made?

Let's say the flower that it's made from just up'd and died.. What do you think would happen?

Would the addicts be killing each other off for just one last fix?

Also Heroin derivative as well, what ever that drug they use to get people off it as well.

The Opium Poppy does more than just Heroin. It's used to make other drugs like Morphine. The plant dieing and the legal drugs disappearing would effect more people than the disappearance of Heroin.

Yes morphine and other pain killing drugs aren't just for addicts. People with severe chronic pain need them as well.

Pharma companies would be very, very happy.
If all natural sources for opiates and their derivates the only source would be synthesizing them.
You know, opiates are much more widely used in pain treatment and anesthesia than just drug abuse.

Also, no more poppy seeds for baked goods and pastries would make me run amok.
