Do you guys know any airsoft sniper rifle guns that are cheap like under $100 that are any good.
How do airsoft weapons work if you don't mind me asking? Condensed air? I don't know if a air powered sniper rifle would be all that effective unless you carry around your own air compressor, but I know little of these things, so don't take my word for it.
Density of the actual round might affect it's flight also, they're plastic right?

I'm no expert but any sniper rifles under 100 bucks are gonna be on the cheap side, you probably already know them but the two sites I look at are
hobbytron.com
airsplat.com
You can get a regular rifle for 60 or 80 bucks, and those things are pretty accurate and are high quality

The spring loaded airsoft rifles use a spring to cock it and they are usually more accurate and powerful than the electric airsoft guns. Electric guns use batteries and are usually automatic.DeadboyUSMC wrote:

I'm pretty sure the density affects the flight of the BB, and yes they are plastic. My friend has an electric P90 which doesn't fire very well if you use smaller BB's because the feed is kind of screwed up.. it's a good for spraying tho
I don't really know, but all my friends are into airsoft. So maybe over the summer I might get one just for kicks and iggles. Sort of like paintball, with no mess and the authentic military fun. And no, I haven't played paintball either. Check this beast out: http://www.hobbytron.com/AirsoftUTGSnip … erGun.html
Probably going to be sold out by the time I ask my parents.

I remember seeing a bolt action SVD on one site, but it was like $400.
Why would they make a bolt action SVD, I know its only airsoft but still. Hope its better in airsoft world than in BF2 :pElamdri wrote:

Ive been airsofting for over a year with the Minnesota Airsoft Association (hence the MAA tag) and I can tell you, there is no such thing as a good airsoft sniper rifle under $100. You're looking at atleast $300 before upgrades to actually make it "sniper worthy" (which will run another ~$200). There is nothing all that great about being an airsoft sniper, nothing like real life. Save up and get an AEG (Automatic Electric Gun). Check out www.mnairsoft.org in the Newbie Section of the forums, plenty of info there.
EDIT: The bolt action SVD is a collaboration between two companies (Head1950 and ATOZCargo) and is distributed by a company called King Arms. Its $500+ and personally I dont like the idea of a bolt action SVD seeing as how the real one is semiautomatic. www.wgcshop.com is a good website to browse to get an idea of airsoft guns. Please note that they are based in Hong Kong, so if you do buy from them, prepare for shipping costs and also for the possibility of high customs charges. Better to go through US stores such as www.airsoftextreme.com, www.precisionairsoft.com, etc.

Yeah, there are springloaded and electric airsofts, but don't forget the gaspowered ones, they really got a huge kick for an airsoft, more like an airrifle for squirrelhunting.I've tested one of those myself,a Tanaka Kar98,bolt action like the real thing and shoots plastic BBs through quite thick tins as if they were butter.Spearhead wrote:

If you want an airsoft-rifle for target shooting like a conventional airrifle which shoots pellets (but doesn't have the cool authentic look) your best choice is a gaspowered one.But I wouldn't use those things for military paintball-style games, they still hurt beyond the 50 meters range, believe me!

this is the link to that bolt action SVD. Why it's bolt action, I have no clue.

I have no clue if that site is reputable or not too, I'm not really into airsoft. I just know that gun looks purtty.
although, the fact that it can mount a real Dragunov Scope scares me a little.

moving..
Are those even safe to hit with each other? I mean it's gotta hurt, even if it's plastic BB's. My parents probally won't let me get one anyway.
Neither will mine probably. I mean my friends said its nothing like paintball and is like a pinch and shouldn't cause bruising or any type of damage like that. But the thought of guns probably will scare my parents awayFragger_Cats wrote:

airsoft is sissy compared to paintball. Most of the time that you get shot in airsoft you just notice that you got hit, no pain at all. In paintball you know your hit all the time.
Paintball > Airsoft
well duh... oh did i mention that its really expensive...Tagmaestro wrote:

airsoft pwns... bb guns in general pwn paintball...
if sum1 says paintball is the best, they lie. In taiwan we have CO2 powered bb guns... that fires 8 or 6mm aluminium rounds... yes it killz but better than paintball...
i got an M9 and an M16A2, they both pwns
i have a M-16 air soft gun that fires at 350 F.P.S.
it hurts like a mother!
it hurts like a mother!
im not pointing out that M-16 > AK-47 it just hurts

Does anyone know any good UK internet site that stock budget airsoft?
man, for toys those things are expensive
forgot to mention the gas-powered hehe....... me and my friends don't play with those cause as you said they're generally more powerful than spring loaded, and the ones we use now are powerful enoughMj.Blindfisch wrote:

Spring loaded airsoft rifles are more accurate than electric ones in most cases, they must have done it for the accuracy.Elamdri wrote:

I have an M1 Thompson submachine replica (those of you who play CoD2 will know it) but it is spring loaded and functions as a rifle, plus it's so freakin powerful it'll give you a third nipple if you get hit with it anywhere closer than 10 feet.
