Probably thousands but it's okay - it was God's will.

Life is a privilege and not a right.. Any age, any person, they have and had the options to get proper care but there's no saying that she wasn't allergic to the medician.. If they went a different route the same thing could have happened.

I didn't think you were being serious before man. Do you condone child abuse by the parent? You seem to think that children are property of their parents. Blanket statements like that give the right to the father to diddle the daughter. You actually think that's ok?

OK I"m not saying that any of it is ok.. There are a ton of bad parents out there, but there are more good parents.. I don't think that making stricter child laws or punishing people in cases where they chose religion over science should be punishable..

We have a massive problem in this country with people being in other peoples business. A parent spanking there child could be considered child abuse if done to much or it might be much needd discipline.

Why do the needs of the few outweight the needs of the many?

because people are assholes who take things too far?

there's a difference between

my parents won't let me wear certain clothes/do certain things because of their religion
and
my parents won't let me take necessary medication for a very treatable illness because of their religion

we also have a problem of people not knowing the difference between an ass slap and whipping them with a belt

I understand the need, but when is enough enough? Too many Laws are passing infringing on too many rights.. 30 years ago, people probably wouldn't have even bat an eyelash at this..

Since when is not getting your child care ManSlaughter.. Ok not for nothing we don't even know if the care would have worked.. Medican is not infailable, maybe she would have had an allergic reaction to the medican and died right away.. Maybe the parents who also have four other kids couldn't afford the care and needed the money to feed the other child they have, what then?

It's manslaughter because;

a)they didn't set out to kill her
b)her illness was 100% treatable
c)she died through inaction from her parents.

et voila, not getting your child care=manslaughter.

so what if it's a 25% chance of recovery illness.. But if they don't get a painfull cure it equals certain death?

Do the same rules apply?

Faith healing

Reminds me of a joke:

A very religious man was caught in a flood. As the water reached his house, he refused the offer of evacuation from the police. He said: I have faith in the Lord and he will save me! The water kept rising so he escaped to his roof. As the water was swirling around his ankles, a rescue boat came to evacuate him which he refused saying : I have faith in the Lord and he will save me. The water rose even further, up to his neck, and a helicopter flew by to offer rescue which he refused and he said : I have faith in the Lord and he will save me! Later, in heaven, the man asked the Lord why He didn't save him. He was after all very pious, prayed daily and attended church.

And the Lord said : You are a dumbass. I sent you the police; I sent you a boat and a sent you a helicopter.
