Srs question. Where would you put it to make some good cash.

Srs responses only plox. No "go play poker and sell drugs" responses.

My personal idea is 50k in gold and 50k in the chinese market under construction stocks.

The Chinese, nowhere but up over there, they have the kind of drive that we could only dream of over here.

Gold is solid, but it's already high, a few years ago, it would have been a better investment than it is now, but still decent

I'd invest more "actively" than that.. Ya know, dish the money around in various companies etc.

This. I would invest the money earned off the interest alone. No worries about losing your 100k that way. Safe as fuck m8. Play it safe if this is for real.

I'd make sure I was debt free first.  Then I'd set up an emergency fund.  This would cover all expenses for six months (house payments, groceries, power).  School of Ramsey.

I'd open a few IRA's (roth).  Then I'd invest in several different areas.  Tech, bio, energy (diversification is clutch).  I believe the average return on the stock market is roughly 12%.  Then, don't second guess the market buy day trading.  Most likely you'll lose.  Just let it ride.

I did see "go to college" as a response.  Depending upon the major, that is an excellent suggestion.

Depends on what level of risk/reward you want to take. Me personally would go with some blue chip shares, they are relatively safe, very liquid and offer both short and long term potential gains. If you were to live on the wild side and didn't mind the possibility of losing everything you could try options trading.

Honestly if you have that amount of capital I"d say look into lending it out. Look for Residental Foreclosed properties, try to spend half that and keep the other half to fix up properties and sell.. 3 month investment and you'd probably double that.

Heh yeah.. Or Debentures/Commercial Bills. since they pay out a certain coupon value every 6months/year/whatever during the term to maturity.. then you get your initial capital back. There is also an active secondary market for these on nearly any securities exchange.. so you can "cash in" at any time.
