This thread is for any type of work or problems which you may be having while you are attending university/college so if you have any problems or want to bitch about stuff how hard something is or how things done make sense post here.
Official threads are lame, it's not like people post that often about their problems. Just let them have individual threads.
I dont give a fuck... plus there are number of official threads on here they seem to be doing ok...Mekstizzle wrote:

Yeah but they are for more frequent things. Plus nobody is ever going to look into this thread. When you have individual threads, you have individual titles that people can see. So that people can easily distinguish whether they'd be able to help before even going into the thread. With stuff like this, it just makes it harder for someone to get help. You can have it, but it wouldn't make sense for anyone to use it if they really did want help. I know I wouldn't use it.
You're not in Uni/College anymore thoughMekstizzle wrote:

I recently sat thru meeting of the city's economic development board. The topic was hiring graduates from the university in local businesses so we would not have a "brain drain" of young talent leaving town.
During the meeting one of the university representatives discussed how she's been recommending business students search for jobs in San Antonio & Houston because "the local businesses won't pay enough".
At which point the chairman dropped his extremely heavy and loud pen on the table. Once he had the university reps attention "We have six entry level bookkeeping openings where the starting salary is $45,000. But we can't get anyone from your school to interview because they'd rather work for a higher paying job in San Antonio at $36,000."
TBH, I miss the university bubble.

Get on xfire mate.
Christening this thread.
Anyone know why he crossed that bit out? I used the chain rule and then factored out the 4... don't see anything wrong?
ed: before he crossed it out, it was (x^3 + lambda^3)

Nothing to do. School restarts tuesday.
noice
The only reason i could see for him to cross it out would be if lamda is constant because then it wouldn't have a derivative.Bevo wrote:

Fairly sure the lambda is a constant... you're only deriving w/ respect to one variable, x. (In any case you forgot a bracket)Bevo wrote:

The 4... that just looks like a case of I R Stoopid on behalf of the marker. It happens.

So as some of you know I have been up for days.
Handed in an important essay today, I have officially done enough work to earn myself some sleep.
Awesome.

Rohirm, gl. a nice load you're carrying.
10 rather easy weeks of uni... and now
Also coming up is a finance test on wednesday, global business essay due in on monday week, and then the following friday my microeconomics submission question (so a report thingy). Then final exams start a week or so after that.
At the moment I'm doing this accounting problem set called Perdisco.. it's about 20 hours worth of work.. am 5 hours into it. Due in a week. For some reason it's only worth 10% of the course. Jerks..Rohirm wrote:

Still doing this accounting thing..
Why am I doing this at 11:30pm
fml.You have currently completed approximately 30% of your Accounting Practice Set. We estimate that it may take you up to a further 14 hours of study time to complete this and the remaining Practice Set pages.

If that was true, wouldn't the first half of my equation be wrong?WldctARCHe wrote:
