I am thinking to upgrade my video card.

Right now, it seems the best video card that AGP can support is either X850 or 7800GS. Price is about similar, X850 pro is little bit cheaper and can be flashed to XT or even PE.

7800GS is relatively a newer product, but it seems that their test rating are not too much of difference.


Anyone has any suggestions or experience on BF2???


Currently I am running on a X700 Pro, which is just enough for 1280x1024 resolution, all settings are low.

Go for the 7800GS, the x850 is slightly faster, but lacks SM3.0. The 7800 is more future proof.

If you have a card like the 6800 Ultra AGP, going to the 7800GS would actually be a bit of a step down. But since it's the X700...may be worth considering. However, like me, you may be better off waiting for next-gen hardware before an upgrade away from AGP.

go for the 7800 , the x850 is no match for it, also u can get sm 3.0 with the 7800 which is better then sm2.0b
