that doesnt really help me. I just wanna know, does the x850 have a problem with bf2?
I have an X850XT and recently, it started beeping frequently while I play. It started when I played FEAR a few months ago, and caught on doing the same thing in BF2 later. This originally came with an error message that my card was overheating so it underclocked itself. I don't know why this would happen, because it's a dual-slot card with its own exhaust (blocks one of my PCI slots ). Maybe I'll make my own thread about it, unless people want to answer it here...

If your video card's busted and you want to go really cheap, go with a BFG GeForce 7300 GS 256MB PCIe. ~$75, but it gets its ass kicked by 6800's. But if you want power for price, go with the BFG GeForce 7900 GT 256MB PCIe. ~$330. The same as the 7800 GS. And with the 6800GT at ~$270, I'd tell anyone that the extra sixty bucks for the 7900 is worth it, unless they can find a really cheap 6800 from a trustworthy vendor on eBay.

I bought the X850 Pro, performs BEAUTIFULLY. the only prob is, when i boot up my compy, it says i need to install an unkown hardware. then it says i have installed my hardware improperly. i have found no other issues than that. this weekend i will try to fix that one small prob. otherwise it runs great.
Look in Device Manager. If you have unknown devices you may have a VIVO version of the card and need to install the WDM drivers.Naughty_Om wrote:

If your Monitor goes blank, the video card is more than likely sending a signal to it that is outside of the monitor's operating frequency. In other words, the refresh rate is more than likely set too high for the resolution you are choosing.

Just gonna say I solved my own problem; it was dust. Right now I'm overclocking to get Platinum Edition performance :]
