Therein lies the backbone of the whole abortion debate. Fuck morallity or religion, determining when a human can be considered a human is the damn problem. I don't know the answer and I'm not willing to guess. Somewhere along the line a foetus turns from a parisitic cluster of cells to a parasitic underdeveloped human and all the while they have the potential to become human.
To be honest though I don't see a foetus as having rights. I just don't. How can something that's not even self-aware have rights? Basically they exist on the whim of their host/mother, (regardless of the abortion debate,) and therefore the parent(s) should have the legal right to decide what is done with them - up until a point of course. Whether that's when it first starts moving or when it's heart starts up or when it at least starts resembling a human I don't know.
