This award is just hard to get for me... The SF choppers are difficult to control, can't seem to handle those birds properly. So I try to be gunner, but still no luck. Haven't you noticed when there's a good pilot everybody wants to be his gunner? I've been tk'ed for that more than once lately.
That means not a lot of players have this award or find him hard to get.
If someone is a good pilot, I hope to meet you on a server to help me out with that, a cold six pack will be waiting for you

I was lucky to team up with a great helo pilot and I didn't even think about the SF specific Helo ribbon. (I already have the Helo ribbon in BF2)
Then all of a sudden I hear drums and there it is!

I told him in the chat that he earned the gold medal that round and that he did all the work for me.

He replied: "It's teamwork."

Too bad there's not that many players like him.

Try the TV2 64player server you'll find more than just one good pilot.

Hehe I could do with some help with that ribbon as well. I cant seem to get the time, or if i do im just playing shite and cant actually land a rocket within 50 feet of someone. :p

I think the harder ribbon to get is the crew service specialist ribbon which requires 20+ driver kill assists and 10 kills in the round. 10 kills is easy. it's the 20+ driver assists that are hard to get.

You are on my leaderboard now so I can look for you

For the crew specialist ribbon here is my advice : join a 64 player map with 18 slots and jump at every tank, apc, helo or plane, and wait... in no time you will have the kill assists (well if the drivers dont suck too much)

I cant get it either strato! Its the suck!

Then again, i cant think of a worse thing to use in the game than a HIND, they fly like your flying a bloody whale. and they are shitty for firepower. I guess one day ill just find me a good pilot and gun the shit out of guys

Theres no time requirement though. Just spend a few rounds in the helicopters and you will get it. I got it totally unexpectedly, I was flying or gunning (alternating) on Mass Destruction, I was quite shocked when it popped up .

Again tonight though i actually got the kill reqs. but the bloody time was too low. Thanks btw Aruba, makes a change to gun for a pilot that knows what hes doing .

Hahaha, now isnt this just the irony, i got mine today, i think strato was on the server at the time too!

What i did: Had a good pilot on Surge and just TV'd Tanks and APCs and gunned the ocasional noob

My problem is I can't fly those helos for anything. They have way to much lift and I haven't figured out the throttle on them.

I know a couple of good pilots I can gun for and get the 22 kills for the helo ribbon. It's getting 20+ driver assist kills that are crazy.

I thought the 13 for the regular bf2 crew service ribbon was hard. It's easy in comparison.

Well one difference is you throttle back a lot more in the hind compared to the cobra. The momentum they pick up is massive as well. So if you dive to the side to avoid a missile start to pull out faster than you would in the havoc or Z10. Just practice a bit you will get them. They are weird helicopters all right. The Apache is far easier to control though, better rocket pod spacing and a nicer gun and its narrower .

What i did to be better at flying helos: Get on an empty server, turn on some music and fly the wildest routes you can imagin. and then do it lower... better yet is to do that with a friend one goes first and the second guy has to follow....

all I did was get into an british helo on ghost town and go back and fourth with it just racking up kills and points. Find a server that isn't too full so you have a little bit of time.

I recieved mine on Iron Gator in a HIND. The flight deck spawn and the one right by the elevator deck inside brought alot of kills. I'm a terrible pilot but I just love flying the HIND, even with it's tail slide I was able to fly that sucker right into the boat, killed about 6 bad guys, captured the inside flag then turned around and flew out. Man oh man, that sure was a great round. With my luck it will never happen again.

Still looking for a pilot on big maps/few slots, last night I racked 16 kills on iron gator but then we capped all flags and the round was over pretty soon, aaaaaaaargggghhhhh

Can't fly too (high ping, very poor PC) soo I did it the poor way: Command out of a transport heli on Ghost Town.

Needs a very long round, since you have to leave the chopper sometimes or accept some deaths when the pilot jumps out to take a flag or you're shot down.

Beside the artillery kills you will be able to get some Spec-Ops with the heli guns.
