Opressing people? You were first. Who had the most colonies areound the world? Who killed people and made them to slaves or lock them into work camps? England, Spain, USA and all others who were in the top 3 with the colonisation. Im just laughing when british or amaerican historians say "the germans were very bad people coz they killed innocent people" and how many indians were killed in the usa? Or on the colonies of the uk?

People forget why the whole war was all about (WW1) and what was the reason.

You're confusing WWI and WWII, apparently.

If they dont punish the central powers with Versailles, Trianon, Neully... that hard, there is no way Hitler came to power and there is no WW2.
Yes mainly France but Britan and the USA are guilty for WW2! It was only their fault!
While it is true that we shouldn't have punished Germany to the extent that we did, blaming us for the rise of the Nazies is pretty ridiculous.

WW2 was the ending of WW1. The first war started because Germany wanted colonies where they can rob the poor people, what the "west" did.
Franz Ferdinand was assasinated by serbia, who dont even said "sorry" so they started the war where Germany became the allie of Austria.
Could imagine if Obama is shot in Iran or somewhere, you wouldnt do the same. You would bomb the shit out of that country (Iraq, Afganistan etc.)

Lots of historians said that if there is no Versailles, then there is no Hitler and no WW2. So again you should be thankful for Britan and France.
Those politicians are guilty for millions of death people.

WWI and WWII were separate events...hence the different numbers and everything.

There is no guarantee that without Versailles, there wouldn't have been a Nationalist movement in Germany.

WW2 wasn't just in Europe, by the way. Don't know if you missed that part or not. Japan invading China, Indonesia, etc had fuckall to do with Versailles.

The European part of WW2 probably was a consequence of WW1.
Versailles or not Germany may well have gone the same way.

The Pacific war not so much - that was down to Japan and the US seeking to empire-build in the same region.

You are pissed just because you lost the war. USA wasn't even involved in WW1 until the end... Biased history class was biased.

Not really.  The Pacific War happened because we didn't want Japan to control everything in that region.  We did have some protectorates there, but we moved away from empire-building the region when we initiated the Phillippine Independence Act.  Once the Phillippines became a Commonwealth, we clearly weren't interested in conquering more Pacific territory.

When Japan rose to power, they spread across the Pacific into areas that threatened countries like the Phillippines, who we considered allies.  Japan invaded the Phillippines 10 hours after the attack at Pearl Harbor.

No, if they'd stayed within their borders we would have done business with them.

What does that have to do with the US?

Which at the time was a US colony, not an ally.

Trade.  Australia would also have been fucked with a Pacific completely under the control of Japan.

They were mostly self-governing, which isn't quite the same as a colony.  For example, Puerto Rico is more like a U.S. colony, because they have not been transitioned toward independence.  Guam and the American Samoa are also, for all intensive purposes, colonies.

The Phillippines, however, were moving toward independence, so we clearly weren't trying to expand any empire with them at that point.  We were trying to move away from them.  When Japan attacked the Phillippines, we weren't just going to let them get conquered.

Actually, all those protectorates/territories operate so independently, they aren't anything close to a colony.

They get all the benefits of statehood without any of the burden.

Well, they don't get voting members in our Congress.  Of course, they don't pay the same taxes either....

True, but for a transition period, that's par for the course.
