I totally agree with that, but if  AMD goes who is going to push Intel to keep their prices low and to keep advancing?
Well, it will balance out eventually. Still no excuse, bad business practice is bad business practice. They should have not bought ATi.
Really? It's not like they make any money on their chips. The only DAAMIT product people buy are ATi video cards.

Yeah ghetto but thats a superficial way of viewing it. There are great costs involved in mergers. Its not like one party packs their stuff up and moves in with the other one

Sure I appreciate that, but rather than being hugely unprofitable on their chips, buying a company that actually makes money is a good idea. Although I suppose a better one would have to just be  build some better chips.

AMD can't go. Anti-Monopoly laws ftw.

The new radeons (5870 & 5850) are rumoured to be geforce killers, 5870 is said to whoop a 295, not to mention that they're bringing out a X2 and a X3, that should help AMD's profits.  All they need now is an i7-killer.
Having good products is not a guarantee of profitability. They can push out as much as they want, and it won't make a difference if they can't run their business properly.

You're comparing a new series of Radeons to an old series of Geforce?  You can't compare those, the 5870 better whoop a 295.  Directx11 cards will obviously be better then Directx10 cards.

The 295 is the best geforce on the market at present, after the 9000 series they went back to using numbers in the 200 range.  Its definitely not in the same league as the MX200, thats for sure!
