Write about Lothar von Trotha. He's the German who basically wiped out the Herero people. Aside from that though he's probably the historical figure with the best supervillain name.

Could do Stalin. He was a complete villain but was portrayed as a hero. You can write shitloads about him too, there's a neverending supply of sources for that one.

Or you could go the anti-hero route and write about Ned Kelly or Jesse James or some of the other folk-type "heroes".

Jesus I just googled for an image, then right click and saved the image, went to open it up, and couldn't figure out why it was so small yet it said XXX x XXX...I saved the thumbnail, 5 minutes of wondering.
