Whilst I am playing BF2, the screen will flicker every 10 seconds or so. So for a 10th of a second or something the screen will go black. It's notice-able enough to be annoying, but it's not there for a huge length of time. I'm going to update the graphics drivers later, but I doubt thats it as my current ones are only a few months old. Any other suggestions on what to do, or what it could be?

Could you give some hardware specs, CPU, ram, graphics etc?

Assuming you know what you're doing, a driver update could fix your problem. Otherwise, turn off any in-windows NVIDIA enhancements, and crank back any overclocking, if present. If that doesn't help, check for overheating, and test your power supply's output. If you're getting dirty power, a computer running extreme applications will tend to flicker. Put a UPS between your system and the wall.

Pentium 4 3.6
1024Mb RAM, brandless stuff
nVidia 6600 256mb

The CPU runs a little hot, 65 degrees C, but I don't think that's it as it's been like that for ages.

How can I test the output of my PSU?
