i know that you can't really see it without logging in, but it's a sports betting website that a friend of a friend made. my friend's friends in alabama made quite a bit off this site during last year's football season, and we'd like to do the same. since we live in a college town, there are hundreds of people that love betting on sports, and this site is much better than bodog or some large site because we will be collecting/paying the money in person. i am definitely willing to pay a fair amount for someone to create/maintain the site for us. i assume that the lines/odds are automatically updated, but i don't know this for a fact. pm me or post here if you have any questions or comments. let's make some money!

The actual design part of a website is the easy part. However, if you're calling on functions like the Sports Betting software involved in this particular site, then you need somebody that's good at developing web applications as well.

I don't bet on sports myself, but if I were to do so, Bodog has a pretty good system. I normally play Poker on Bodog as well as a couple of other online sites.

Infact now that I look at it it looks like something that could be done in Visual Basic. Very easy to do for an advanced coder. I could even make a bash at it, but I doubt it'd work.

@guardian: this site is better than bodog because you dont have to wait 2 weeks to get your money. we collect on tuesday and pay out on thursday. betting week ends after monday night football. like i said in the op, those kids at bama made a SHIT LOAD of cash last year. we already have like 15 clients, and that number is growing every day. right now, we are only getting 30% of the profit because we are using the dude's site. i think you can see why having our own site would be a lot better...

A site like that is quite complex, and I don't know the ins and outs of betting systems, but my guess would be, if you hired someone, you would be looking at easily $7,000 for it, probably $12,000 + for a site like that. That is, of course, if you want it to be good and all that. I am sure finding an indian developer on the side would cost you much less, but for a shitter product that could potentially be unsafe. I'll certainly look into how it works, that site you showed looks quite simple, in comparison to most betting sites, though.

lol i worked with a friend to make a site for lines, we used dotnetnuke and cooked it up in a month. it was a bitch at first not understanding how sports betting worked.

protip: don't start from scratch, extend a cms

edit: You might want to make sure you are careful where you host it, especially if you have names.
