To be fair, ellen was on So You Think You Can Dance as well as a guest judge and, tbh, critiqued more competently than almost any other celebrity/comedian could.

EDIT: I don't think McBeth ever answered why he put so much emphasis on "American". It's like putting the amphAsis on the wronG SyllAble.
