The thing about the old movies that makes them better or maybe not better but different is dialogue and camerashots, no nifty tricks back then but the photographer made magic moments every so often ... the pace might make them seem slower but the action is "more real"
Adventures of Robin Hood is one of my favs

Wait behind the line ..............................................................
That's a very good point. No CGI or stunt men back in those days either.Varegg wrote:

Re: my substitute movie choice, Seppuku:
# While filming, Tatsuya Nakadai was afraid during most of the sword and spear fighting scenes because real swords were being used. A practice now forbidden in Japanese films. His concern was not alleviated even though professional swordsman were employed during the choreographed swordplay.
Hmm.. I'm thinking Dracula (1931) or Defiance (2008).. quite a big swing..lulKmarion wrote:

Just watched "Tell your Children" & "The Count of Monte Cristo" for the first time today. I really enjoyed the count and got a good laugh out of tell your children. I couldn't find "Mutiny on the Bounty" on any public trackers, so any suggestions would be appreciated. I look forward to catching up on the others and watching the future-scheduled.

A good idea. After watching today's movie, I remembered why I don't usually watch musicals...because I hate them.Kmarion wrote:

The Mummy's hand.
I remember reading that they actually went back with a black pen (like a sharpie) and and drew on the film to darken his eyes. It looks real funny when you see it in motion..

I kinda veered away from doing that so I wouldn't clog up the polls section. Some of the ratings link to a generic polling site. I didn't anticipate the beauty and weapons contest going this long..AussieReaper wrote:

"I'd like to suggest that Kmar gives a brief review of each movie after watching and add it to the OP."
And you never even did that.
