I really don't have a problem with contractors working in logistical capacities, like running supplies, providing cleaning services, catering, rebuilding efforts etc.  I will never advocate using contractors to protect diplomats, State Dept. officials and the like, and I really don't care for them in combat situations.  Obama has repeatedly shown that he is all for the status quo regarding use of PMCs in conflict and it's pathetic.  There's nothing new, perhaps the sheep that constantly deride the right and left as the wrong side of a 2-sided coin will realize it is an us vs. them mentality...the concentration of capital vs. the people.

Reminds me of a Goethe quote -
Divide and rule, a sound motto.  Unite and lead, a better one.

You've hit on a key point here Ken, this is sooo true and illustrates how they have divided us into the Left/Right paradigm as a control method.  They keep us constantly infighting while they are playing both sides of the field. Pretty sick IMO.

You're starting to grasp at straws now.

Obama has made some mistakes, but his decisions regarding Gitmo, renditions, and possibly the slow withdrawal from Iraq are more deserving of criticism than of simply moving contractors from Iraq to Afghanistan, mostly because Afghanistan was an internationally approved invasion.

Iraq does have the Coalition of the Willing, but that's considerably less approval than that of Afghanistan.

Sadly...  yes.  The rendition thing is pretty much the same as well.

Amirite that he campaigned on ending the wars and stopping rendition/prolonged detention of suspected AlCIAeda operatives?

He said something about withdrawing from Iraq within 16 months of entering office.  Theoretically, he could still meet this promise, but it's not likely.

Rendition is a practice he condemned, but so far, he seems to have let it continue.

Gitmo is something he goes back and forth about.  Supposedly, it will be completely closed by January, but even after that, there will likely be other areas for detainees used throughout the world (mostly for renditions).
