I'm 22 without a license. I have a fear of all things DMV related. I even took drivers ed back in high school, and I actually CAN drive. I just don't like driving. It scares meKung Jew wrote:

'One-eyed Wonder Mod' isn't just to make him feel cool. I'm sure you have some neat party tricks with that fake eye Marco, I wish I had a party trick.
Yeah, hijacking threads.... anyway, geting a licence is a chore, but I suggest you get it started. Here in NZ we have to first get a learners licence, (minimum age 15,) with an $80 scratch-and-win test - fail and it's another day and another $40 - I failed once. Six months after getting this, you can sit a practical restricted test, ($84.) Takes 20 minutes and they love failing you, because if you fail, you have to book again, (huge waiting list, mostly at least a month,) and have to pay another $45 - I failed TWICE, although the second time I took it in a small country town on Xmas eve, so it was a lost cause from the start.
Finally, you have to wait 18 months, (12 if you sit a defensive driving course - another $80 - I didn't bother,) and then you can sit a full test. This costs $120.10. I have no idea where the ten cents came from but I'm pretty sure its charging you for the piece of paper you have to fill out. This is a full hour three section practical test and they LOVE failing you. They look at ANYTING to fail you, it's crazy. However, I don't know how much it costs to re-sit because I got this one first time. I learned my lesson and spent about $400 on driving lesons.
So it cost me about $810 and two years for me to get my full drivers licence. It's a chore, but I can tell you it's a really good thing to have, even if you don't drive much.
