Literally of course, dating them is another thing entirely.
I'm glad that the lack of vegetarians in my life has caused me to have no reason to post in this thread as of late.

It's a good trend, no?

I miss her but I don't miss having to eat Quorn whenever she cooked a meal. The fuck is that shit... honestly.
I'm surprised, a man of your intelligence should have seen something wrong when she wouldn't eat any meat.

I like this Uzique also, a lot easier to get along with.

The only vegetarian shit I eat is proper South-East Asian tofu (Vietnamese Dad eh) and walnuts, but walnuts only in a salad with fried lards and grilled provincial French goat cheese.

Meh, go out in your limo and buy a prostitute, and on the way home to your pristine white flat phone for an escort. Then proceed to shag them vigorously whilst inspecting your ripped body in your full-sized wall mirror. Then once you've slept a bit, brutally harm them.

You know what I'm on about.

I'm sorry Pete, but I'll have to side with Finny here. Do NOT date vegetarian girls, especially not if they're hot. Not prejudices here, just experience. I can go on and on about why you shouldn't, but eventually it will come down to: "don't, just don't!". If you do anyway, we'll see you in this thread in a couple of months/years, but here in Holland we have a saying that: "it is better (and easier) to prevent, than to cure".
No, please do mention why I shouldn't.

I am myself a vegetarian, and I can't see the bad thing.
Pfoooo,.. well it's hard to say, but in retrospective I'd draw the following conclusions:

I guess "hot vegetarian girl" is a contradictio in terminus; it is pretty hard to properly substitute meat in an omnivoureous diet, as a result individual vegetarians (as oposed to collective vegetarians like Budhist monks) are usually quite pale and ill looking. Thus any girl that is vegetarian and hot is herself a paradox, in person and in character. Something keeps them from putting the usual healthy nutrition in their bodies, yet at the same time they are (overly) self aware. Also while they have problems with eating bambi and other cudly Disney animals, they have no problem with fucking with other people('s heads). While they pretend to be mature outwards, they are in fact quite dependant and immature. In general this means they just can't make up their fucking minds, can not relativate, are narrow minded and tend to react strangely to serious situations, particularly regarding serious emotional relationships (compared to shallow physical relationships) with people of the other sex.

That, and when you want to take them out for proper diner (think Alain Paasard in Paris), you're fucked.

Spoiler (highlight to read):
Note that this is in retrospect. Ideally I'd need a larger reference sample. Also I know relatively little of male vegetarians, so please do not take this personally, unless you're Amdi the sister of course instead of Pete, in which case you (as a vegetarian) better be ugly. I just have quite negative experiences with hot vegetarian girls.
Wait, what did that mean?

Finray wrote:

Why are you a vegetarian?

The only reasonable excuse for being vege/vegan is that you don't like the taste of meat. "Oh noes teh littel cowz", one more kid not eating meat isn't going to stop a multinational, probably worldwide company like McDonalds sending 50,000 cows to slaughter every five minutes. We eat meat. We need nutrients and shit from meat. That's why we ate it when we were cavemen, when we would chose survival over ethics. It's natrual to eat meat. Anyone who doesn't is just stupid.
I'm a vegetarian is because I think the way it's made, the way the animals are butchered is disgusting. She told me that was the reason for her being a vegetarian too.

FFS just eat Hallal food then, I'm sure there are many Muslim butchers in Belgium too. They butcher the animal with a quick slit of the throat, preceded by a comforting little prayer. It is much more humane than any of the conventional Western methods.

I lol'd.

The animals are getting butchered either way. You not eating them doesn't solve anything. Humans are omnivores.

But have you ever thought of how they make saugauses? Or how animals are killed during transport to the place where they are butchered?

They make sausages from meat when it is already dead! If the animal is already butchered properly, who cares if the stuff its intestines with its bollocks? Regarding dodgy EU transports, that is no reason to become a vegetarian. If it really bothers you that much, just buy bio food or go hunting/fishing. When I eat lamb or sheep with my neighbours in France, I know the animal has had a happy cared for life untill it was butchered as quick and painless as possible. So even if I would care, there is still no reason to cut down on meat alltogether.

If I stick things out with the ex-girlfriend I'm living with for the next year, I'm going to have to start all over in that 'friend zone' bollocks as well. Granted, our relationship has pretty much always been intimate, so I won't get overlooked and categorised as only the 'nice guy' type, but it's still a tedious bore working with and up through the stupid, distanced 'friend' stuff in order to reignite the sparks.

Not interested in making the messy situation anymore complicated, to be honest. Hook-ups here at home and some fun abroad was a great break to get things out of my system and take my mind off things... but it's still going to be pretty tense for the first few days/weeks when I move back into the house. Banging one of her friends would just make nightmarish, plus most of her best-friends are the creepy, 'caring' guy type that I have talked about loads before... and I don't bat on that side!

Anyone got tips for a long distance relationship? And by long distance I mean she's in DC and I'm in California. We're both dedicated to each other, and trust each other more than the President is trusted with nuclear launch codes. I really want to make it work, as does she.

Er. How long will this be for?
6 or 8 weeks. If it helps, she's not promiscuous or anything like that.

edit: We already pulled off a 2.5 week stint of being apart and we managed just fine with only cellphones and emails. But I was just hoping to see what others have to say.
