Formula 1 returns after a 4 week summer break to the Valencia circuit, where it held it's debut race in Formula 1 last year when Felipe Massa won a rather dull race. This year, let's hope for some more exciting action, as the Championship heats up - can Brawn return to winning ways, or can Red Bull continue chipping away at Brawn's lead? Or can McLaren do a favour to Brawn and halt Red Bull or vice versa?

Practice was fun to watch. Lewis' spin was amazing, he could have destroyed that car...

Love this track btw. I would imagine its not good from an 'in person' point of view, but on live HD tv it's awesome.

Mclaren front row, Hamilton and Kov. Some turnaround it's been for them this season. Kov could've easily got pole if he didn't fuck up the last corner so badly.

Schui would of had the same problem, its not exactly like riding a bike, you need to get the craft back, takes time (something they cant get anymore with ban on testing).

If it wasn't for the ban on testing, you could wager that Badoer would of spent much of the last few weeks blasting around Fiorano practising, rFactor's good, isn't that good.

Totally right. Valencia is the worst circuit of the year. At least we have Spa and Monza to look forward to, Singapore is quite good fun too....

idiots leaving the tyres in the garage!

Ruined it for McLaren/Hamilton, and Red Bull didn't exactly do any favours with shitty engines and dumb pit stop timings either. Brawn got lucky today!

Still, a better race than last year. If only it was a few laps longer, would've been interesting to see what would've happened once Hamilton caught Barichello, and moreso once Button had caught Alonso

Yeah, the pit stop was a shambles. But, you can't make excuses, Barrichello was sticking to Hamilton like glue throughout the entire second stint and yes, McLaren did make a bum of Hamilton's pitstop, but I think with the pace Barrichello had when he wasn't behind a McLaren his in-lap would have been enough to push him ahead of Hamilton anyway (his pace when he needed to overtake Kovalainen was incredible, and he was quite a way ahead of Heikki when the first round of pits were over).

Ah well, you can't win them all. But Spa next week, should be a very good KERS track, very much looking forward to the cold temperatures so Red Bull and maybe McLaren again can get to Brawn

Jumping Hamilton would have been a whole different story to the way he jumped Kov

The tyre mess up cost Hamilton about 4-5 seconds. Barichello got out 4.5 seconds in front. It would have been extremely close, and don't forget Barichello would have known of Hamiltons bad pit stop so may not have pushed as hard.
