BF2S Forums sniper question one shot one kill ( a must read)

No.  Snipers need a certain amount of skill to do what they do.  Learn to aim at the head or take multiple shots.

This debate has been going on since the beginning.  Yes, the M95 should kill with one shot to almost anywhere, but gameplay balance must be maintained.

Also, if it was a one shot kill with the sniper rifle to anypart of the body, then it would be a bit stupid if you instantly die from being shot in the foot.

Dozen or so threads about this already....but HELL no! I already feel 'cheated' with the new rifle nerf in the new patch as well as the new unlock. Now anyone can snipe decent, not effectively for the team but nonetheless, decently. For me, my days a long distance have just about come to an end.

No, it would COMPLETELY NERF THE GAME  /quit Battlefield 2 if they made sniper rifles 1 shot kills. 

As Sorrenart ^^ said above, it's easy enough right now.

Think quake 2 railgun......  Used to love that gun, because you could get multiple kills with one shot!

But I agree headshot = death
Torso shot = almost dead.
Foot shot = instant death! (who wants to live with a hole in their foot!)

As to the whole one shot kill sniper debate, no they shouldn't be instakill guns. That'd spoil the game.

I do however think the damage system needs to be changed to something like Operation Flashpoints.

Example, you shoot somebody in the legs and they can no longer walk but have to crawl instead. Enough bullets in the legs and they die (as well as any other part of the body), if you get shots in the arm/hand area then your aim is unstable and shaky, and like in BF2 a shot to the head is instant death.

I also think there should be some damn blood, in Operation Flashpoint you can tell you've hit someone by a splat of blood or red stains on their camoflage. Instead of a hit indicator which takes all the fun out of shooting people.

COD2 is one shot kill with a mosin or mauser but the game is still good. but i do see it would be stupid

CoD2 is different, because the maps are TONS smaller, I mean, the largest map (Caen) is much smaller than any of the 16 player maps on BF2.  So using a scope takes some sort of risk, as does using any rifle in that game.

Think of it this way..

If they made the sniper rifles one shot kills, than it should take at least 2 shots from an assault rifle to kill you.

I think one very big problem with one shot kills would be no-scoping someone right in front of you.  It'd be a very lame way to go (although now you only need to hit them once with a pistol afterwards anyways).  And as has been said many times already, it's a dumb idea and would be terribly imbalanced.  I like the blood idea, though.  It'd probably take the game from T to M, but that doesn't bother me.
