While that is one way to look at it, you know the press won't handle it like that.Stingray24 wrote:
Actually, Turq, this is absolutely perfect press for those of us who support gun rights. Multiple guns were out in public with their responsible owners and no one was accidentally shot, no one committed a crime, and the evil guns did not kill anyone. Yes, you have a right to protest. Yes, you have a right to bear arms. Still, you're bringing an assault rifle with you right outside a presidential speech? I guess these guys don't mind being watched by the government, because I'm sure they are now.
There's a difference between it being legal to carry a weapon at a certain place and it being something you should do. It's perfectly legal to walk around a preschool with an assault rifle but you'd be a bit of a loony if you wanted to make a point of it and carried one with you every time you picked up little Bobby.

true as this is, it will only take one psycho to wreck it for everyone.Stingray wrote:

The press would find a way to vilify my grandma if she was to open carry as long as they got ratings.Turquoise wrote:

A good government is one that fears the population.
I say there is not enough fear in America.

lol... the simple fact that the Iraq war happened is proof enough that there IS enough fear in America and whats worse, misplaced fear.ATG wrote:

I MEAN THAT THE GOVERNMENT WOULD DO WELL TO FEAR THE PEOPLE AS WE WOULD HAVE NO PROBLEM STACKING THEIR WORTHLESS CARCASSES LIKE CORDWOOD
i got no problem with that. except gov't people smell when they burn, like old people do.ATG wrote:

The government doesn't fear a group of citzens with guns becasue it has it's own group that not only has more guns and more powerful guns but knows how to use them better too.
Then again I suppose that group is a bit tied up at the moment.
Although I agree with the ideals behind the protest I have to once again say that it would only take one idiot to ruin everything for everyone.

Guns are not that effective anyway.
Fertilizer and kerosene is.

Amen to that.

yea it is little over the top I would of done it, who knows if something were to happen they would be the first ones to be questioned or blamed? possibly..
I think it's funny how they didn't show the guy with the AR 15 fully, probably since it didn't fit their "they're white racists with guns" idea...
look its MSNBC not FOXNEWS ............. MSNBC not FOX ................. N B C ... not ... F O Xnickb64 wrote:

I get tired when most want to jump on the bandwagon about Fox .... even the nObama does it too
I believe the government does fear armed citizens. Also note that the "group" with guns that the government has are on both sides. Do you really think soldiers would fight it out with civilians? Our soldiers are fighting for our rights and to defend this country. Why would they help the government take our rights away? After all they'd be fighting their neighbors, friends and family.Ty wrote:

Don't under estimate the power of the people.

I said the media would try to spin this negatively, but outright lies to play the race card...I didn't think they'd go THAT low.
Why stop at bringing guns to these town halls?
It would be an infringement of my rights if I'm not allowed to bring high-explosives into all government buildings.

High explosives are NOT useful defensive weapons for the general public. A Glock is.
High explosives are also regulated by the NFA. This debate is about firearms, not C4 or RDX.
We're not even talking about federal buildings (they are already off-limits)

Aside from the fact that in no shape or form is a gun a DEFENSIVE armament. Body armour is defensive. A gun is an offensive weapon, that is the entire point in them.RAIMIUS wrote:
