M436A3 - Far too busy for my tastes. Other than that it's a good looking weapon and certainly the most versatile.
Sp1 Probably the rifle that looks most comfortable to fire. However it looks "flimsy".
L1964A1 Too long I think, almost better suited as an LMG. Looks good but if I were picking an Assault rifle I'd definitely want something more compact.
M90R A good looking weapon and I have a hard time finding faults with it - one rather weak critisism of mine would be that the barrel looks too heavy for it. Would rate better with me if it was properly colour co-ordinated
Standard Rifle This rifle lacks a lot of the flair of the other weapons. It certainly lives up to the "standard" part of it's name. That being said it would be the most functional of all of them. One critisism would be that with the GL and silencer it looks quite front-heavy.

Final call.
My pick is the Standard Rifle. Although it lacks a lot of the creativity and flair of some of the others as well as a catchy name with a lot of meaningless numbers it is obvious that there has been significant thought as to how it would function as a real weapon. Everything is where it should be, even the modified version makes allowances for new sights. 
Also the GL fits it beautifully.

It seems that simplistic practical design wins the day for me.

Out of these I like the M90 the most, despite its shitty color.

I still can't believe the  L1964A1 is there :p I won't comment on that.

The M436A3 has a very frail little stock their and I've never liked that stock. You can't extent or retract it, but that's not as bad as it looks so fragile. Also I don't like the iron sighting system. An integrated optic would be my way to go since you can aim faster with a good optic and you can ID targets. But I do love that pistol grip and the magazine release because you only need one finger to drop a magazine and it doesn't move far from the trigger, you don't have to move any hands.

The Sp1 would definantly get my vote, but again a very frail stock there. Everything about it is just awesome, except for the crappy stock. Oh and I don't see how you'd put a rail on that thing underneath for a grenade launcher, but it's possible.

The M90R has a wonderful stock for a change, but the barrel is much too long and it would be very hard to handle in quick CQB fighting, but for long range it would definantly do the trick. Also what caliber is that thing? xD

The standard rifle has it all. Great barrel length, looks really light and easy to handle. The stcok is just wonderful! I'm not too impressed by the sights but I like them a little. But the ACOG on it fixess that issue. It just looks right, it looks like a gun that could be used and very effectively.

I don't think it matters. Some will judge them on how they look, others will judge them on how they might be to use. Personally I used a bit of both.

You can look at a design and come to a conclusion as to whether it would "work" or not though. You can think "hmm, that looks uncomfortable to hold" or "hmm, that barrel looks too long to make it effective" or "hmm, why does the barrel point towards the shooter?" Yeah we can't fire it and see if it's accurate or whether it jams - duh - but you can use the power of imaginaaaaaatiooon to think about how it might work it it were a real weapon.

I'd prefer designers to put some thought into how their weapons *might* function instead of just thinking "awesome that looks sweeet." A good looking gu that is also functional earns more points in my book. A functional gun that's butt ugly will loose points as will a sweet looking gun that requires a contortionist with superhuman strength to operate.
