Is it wrong to wish death on people?

Former "Air America" radio host, Mike Malloy, (now self-syndicated through Nova; heard locally on Green 960) seeking attention and ratings, lashed out at Fox News commentator, Glenn Beck, calling for Beck to commit suicide "on camera," particularly given that suicide "is rampant in his family" and that Beck apparently is "self-destructive."
"I have good news to report," said Malloy on his Aug. 4 radio program. "Glenn Beck appears closer to suicide. I'm hoping that he does it on camera.

So considering our words and thoughts have no super natural effect to kill someone is it wrong to wish death upon your enemies or people you don't like. Mind you your words don't have any effect what so ever.

Also is it okay to take pleasure in the death of people you don't like or to make a joke at someone's death? Considering they are already dead and nobody that knows them will ever hear said joke would it be ok to just make every single joke about them that you can? I mean well it's not like a joke is going to drag them to hell to experience endless rape.

It depends on what you plan to gain.

Sometimes, wishing death upon someone is a needed release of angst. However, doing it on air is unprofessional.

The acceptability of making jokes about those who have recently died is dependent on the deceased, how they died, and who your audience is.

He can say what he wants.... but it is beyond poor taste for this motherf#cker to wish someone would commit suicide... Glenn Becks mother and brother committed suicide... You can like Beck or not... but wishing him to kill himself or anyone to kill themselves is wrong...

It is perfectly normal for you to wish someone to die, as long as it stays as a thought in your head.

Incredibly poor taste. I think actions like that are appalling and speak volumes about the man's character (or lack thereof). It is childish to insult a foe, even moreso to make such personal remarks.

It shows a lack of mental stability on the host's part. How do you let yourself get so worked up about another person that you wish death upon them?

I wouldn't wish death on Beck, but he's really nothing more than a Rush wannabe. If you like what Beck has to say, watch the original.
