hahaha Cheers Kez, good laugh there
Holy shit that was a heavy hit to the head
Oooh I just watched Massa's crash again. Just saw that a piece of Rubens' car hit him in the head. Quite similar to what happened to Surtees except something smaller, but it still seemed to knock him out sort of. Didn't notice that before, it looked like a simple crash into the tyre wall!
How unlucky do these guys have to be to get things to hit them on the head like that...

Yeah I don't think it would have been as worrying if he just went into the tyre wall through driver error. The fact that he was driving at around 200kph at the time means that the contact would have been so severe that it would have knocked him out. I'm glad he was conscious enough to hit the brakes because that could have turned into something much worse.
what is so special about the fucking hell?

http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/77276Felipe Massa will need to undergo surgery after it emerged he has suffered bone damage of his skull and a brain concussion in his accident at the Hungarian Grand Prix.
The Brazilian will be forced to miss the race after he was hit in the head by debris believed to belong to Rubens Barrichello's car.
Massa was airlifted to a Budapest hospital, where he remains in stable condition.
Ferrari said in a statement that Massa will need to undergo surgery and will have to stay under observation in intensive care for an undisclosed period of time.
"After the accident during the qualifying session of the Grand Prix of Hungary, Felipe Massa was airlifted to the AEK hospital in Budapest," the statement said. "Felipe was conscious at the arrival at the hospital and his general conditions remain stable.
"Following a complete medical examination it emerged that he had suffered a cut on his forehead, a bone damage of his skull and a brain concussion. These conditions need to be operated on after which he will remain under observation in intensive care."
The team said further information will be released later tonight.

Looks good for RBR again. Only thing will be Hamilton's KERS off the line otherwise its looking promising for another 1-2 (Vettel in front).

Although this track they say is hard to overtake with, so poll position is useful. If he can pull off a big lead without any idiot causing a safety car means he could go far even if he'll pit long before everyone else
the spring that hit massa was 800grams
I didnt know when I posted that. I was quite surprised that they released such a "shocking" picture so soon. Now I know about it...my word.menzo wrote:

Hope hes back soon, I think hes both a great driver and personality in F1. Shame hes at Ferrari
I've always wondered why F1 and Indy haven't put something/anything into the design of the front to ward off things flying at the driver's melon.
What a big disappointment. I would fire that retard of an engineer that forgot to screw on the tire properly. It ruined his entire race, and although Hamilton was catching up (no surprises, Alonsos car is slower and without Kers) it would have been a fantastic race to watch. Fuck that shit.Mekstizzle wrote:

Nice win hamilton.

Wrong person, same result but as I predicted KERS causes more contact in the first corner and costs someone the race.
LEWIS. LEWIS. LEWIS.
Fucking epic drive on his part, brought a tear to my eye as he crossed that finishing line. Couldn't have been a better day really. Vettel: Out. Alonso: Out. Perfect. I fucking lol'd @ both of them going out, I actually cheered for it, especially @ Alonso.
I dont believe in coincidences, but my word, first Surtees getting killed from a "flying tyre", then Massa receiving skull injuries from flying debris and then Alonso's tyre flying around...after the mounting (?) falling off and shattering all over the track? That is starting to make me wonder if this isn't some sort of sign.
Oh. Well done McLaren

I missed this race, and I'll miss Top Gear. But good to see Hamster winning, I'll let the other race standings be a surprise when I watch the race afterwards

Get well soon Felipe!
Renault have been penalised and wont be allowed to race in Valencia. That is just stupid.
FIA really have taken it too far. It was a genuine mistake, and they were hoping it was to stay on for the lap so he could pit again. What a bunch of douches. Added to the fact it harmed nobody.

Well done hamilton. Quite glad to see vettel go out aswell, prefer Webber anyways.
