Couldnt agree more with the Beckam bit Mek. They want him to play as not only skills but interest in it goes up.Mekstizzle wrote:

People need to stop making a big deal about Flintoff already. I'm sick of hearing about this fredalo goon all the time when it comes to Cricket news. Is there actually fuck all else to talk about. Fuck sake.
He was somewhat influential in the 2005 Ashes. That's about it. People overrate this guy so much. He's the Beckham of the England Cricket team.
"Nothing gets an Australian's neck prickling like the sight of Lord's and the players' baggy greens gain extra power whenever they bob through the Long Room. England's leaders can't understand why their team hasn't beaten their Ashes rivals in 75 years here. Another chapter will be added to the dusty pages of history this week. " Quoted from the cricinfo website.
I had trouble sleeping last night, knowing the second test starts at Lord's today.
Bring it on!

Me and my mates got a saying when we playing 'Hows ya fucking nerves son'? I play for a laff and thats all, I compete hard and bowl as fast as I can but not if I loose my accuracy. Ive squared up to players way above my level who are tonking me everywhere looked them in the eye and str8 faced asked them 'Hows ya fucking nerves son'? Much to the amusement of the batsman himself, 2 slips, a gully and a WK.
So Vspy 'Hows ya fucking nerves son'?
What fucking nerves? England wont win this test either.
England win the toss (yessss get in there ya fucking beauty, we fucked em up there) and choose to bat. Onions in instead of Monty is the only change.
Would have preferred to see Australia bat first but this should be good game.
Watch the golf, or the ashes, tough decision....Think I'll wait til Tigers finished his round then switch over.
I know fucking karate

Good start by the sounds of it
For England it certainly is. They don't seem to be having any issues.
From what I've seen, your Johnson is having another stinker.
I know fucking karate
Seems to be that way. Last i saw of his economy it was at 6.73. That's bad even for a 20/20.
At least this will give Australia something to work for.

Them two lads of ours are doing a pretty good impression of a pair of Australians right now.
TBH the pitch is much too flat. Again.
This will kill test cricket, these no-resulters.

Good comeback after the middle session drinks (six wickets).
Johnson looked a little better after tea. Looked slightly more relaxed. Still too loose though, this is a person who took 5 wickets in as many overs not six months ago.

Thank god Strauss finally has the message, I said it last test. Forget how good you think your score is until you see what Strayer do on the wicket. Good comeback by Aus last eve or good chuck away with England?? Id give credit to Aus actually, they got the ball to move off the pitch and swing a bit.

On Thursday in Cardiff (about 2 miles away from me) the 2009 Ashes series kicks off. We won the Ashes last time it was held over here in 2005, but got fucking trounced 5-0 when we went to Strayer (thats short for Australia if anyone is wondering) approx 14 months or so later.
We will have a better chance than last time IMO as a few of the Strayians have retired but so has possibly our best batsman Micheal Vaughn. I say possibly as his record vs the Straians wasn't too bad. I know both teams have brough fresh blood through the ranks but the greatest bowler ever to play isn't going play for Strayer - and thats Warney. If the King of Spin didnt get you out with one of his deliveries than his gob would probably do the trick.
I love Australia, everything about it other than the creepy crawlies and snakes but sorry to admit I will have very little love over the next 8 weeks or so, until the summer ends as in cricket at least their is no other rivalry like it, oh ok, maybe India and Pakistan as at least we wont go rioting and burning flags if we get bowled out for 102 on the first day.
There has been a lot of talk about the series kicking off in Cardiff and even though I'm biased I can see why. It should be at Lords, its where all the other series starts and this is the biggest. However, the stadium and fans will do this competition proud, excellent facilities.
It'll be very interesting the way this goes, I cant see it being a white wash either way. I can't even call who will be the main men to keep an eye on but as our weather has it at the moment and he is in good form I think the English batsmen should watch out for Brett Lee. He has had his critics recently but proved last week he can bang it in short and knock ya lid off or pitch it up and get ya stumps cartwheeling. Same as any battle if you take the general out you have a chance, thats what England need to do with Ricky Ponting. Flintoff can be the man here, we will miss Simon Jones who was the best player in '05 but Freddie can get it swinging a bit and bowls a decent yorker himself. Wether Fred is fit enough to last a match, never mind the series waits to be seen.
The hype has been getting stronger in the press over recent months and will increase right up to the 1st ball at 11am on Thursday. Strayer are known for this side of the game and past players have been gobbing off in the press for a while now, thats about all they can do other than commentate, it'll be very interesting to see whats written between now and Thursday and from then till the very last ball is bowled of the series. I'd love to be playing in it, Id even stick a hat and a white coat on and go and umpire it just to hear the slating going on.
I predict a Series win for England or a draw, wether we get the Ashes back I'm not sure, but I think it will be close.
As long as we don't start this series like the last one in Strayer we have improved. Harmison straight to 2nd slip

I cant expect you to know Im one of the biggest cricket fans here, but for your own sake if you like it here, don't reply 'lolol' to every long post you come across here at bf2s or your stay will probably be one of the shortest ever. Its a very good online community that respects mature input.
Please don't waste peoples time or yours by going into threads you dont like and telling people you dont like it. Its easy, just dont go in them.
Please ask me if you need anymore help here as your new, but rather than clutter the forums, send me a pm.
