Red name bug is a problem with the way the engine renders colors and you're eyes see them. Its impossible to fix and as such DICE have stopped wasting their time with it.Mexanick wrote:

Also I've spawned in the game and it appeared I was fighting for both teams, as each kill would earn me kill points + negative points for teamkilling.

I doubt it, I think it's where in this 1.5 patch, there are only a few people working on it as opposed to earlier patches, and these few people aren't listening to the community properly, that's why it's taking so long and that's why it's shit.Sup wrote:

Everyone has always said it's taken way too long for this patch to come out, but seeing as it is coming out it doesn't matter
I do agree though, 3 betas is a lot, that's what I meant about them listening, they have added so much extra stuff that no one wanted it's just delaying it too much, I thought all people wanted was better hitreg and a few vehicle tweaks

I'd like to get back into BF2 however with the way the latest patching process is going it would be too late as BF1943 or BF BC2 will be out on pc by then and most interest will have been lost. (Hopefully will not be the case) Its pretty annoying how these days developers favor releasing their titles to console nubs vs on the pc market, ffs unlike the old days- release on both platforms simultaneously. Consoles > pc in quantity, sup business supply and demand.
Back on topic- its funny how it seems that the guy in charge of getting this patch moving, Bazajaytee, is trying to make a better effort listening to all the suggestions on the ea UK forums. I understand it may be in good intent but for the most part, the 'hardcore' fan base mainly just want: improved hit reg if possible, welcome improved anti-cheat, and minor tweaks to the particular j10 vs f35 or any decent positive change worthwhile.
As for the following beta patch, there's hardly any public beta testing going on. After the 1st beta, most ppl won't even bother downloading the 2nd one, let alone the 3rd. Hardly any servers up, most are hosted in Europe and the amount of ppl active in the beta are few. Can't really fully test the patch so...meh.
More gripes of the last beta I LOL @.
-Failed fix on the chopper hud. They changed the color of the outline box, and the 'click' crosshair (the one only visible in single player) rendering the 'fix' useless in multiplayer.
-Punkbuster still kicks user with fraps running. (PB doesn't kick for said reason on other ea titles)
-Alt tab crash
-More alterations to dive/prone deviation.
Some good things about the patch.
-Native widescreen support
-Slightly better hit reg
-Not much else due to lack of being able to test.
Wtb BF3 and go through the entire butcher-the-game w/ Dice's famous patching process.
Staying up +24hrs sup lolololol.

They hold betas for a patch and hold out on the final product so they can fix know problems and people bitch that they already released patches and are having to many betas.
