Varegg I believe most people here over estimate the power of the President as well. Although, Obama has a lot of help in Congress.
That may be so ... but also when saying Obama I believe most people refer to him as part of his administration, atleast I do ... they draw the guidelines, they propose bills and acts and try to pass them in congress ...

That's pretty much the exact same way it works in Norway and any other monarchy also ... the prime minister aka head of state is the boss, the king or queen is just for show and have no real power ...

A President can not introduce a bill. He must use Congress... which is of course not a problem. People (not you) have always tried to pin the whole of our countries success or failure on the president and his administration. It's ridiculous. Laws, taxes, and wars are made in congress. Of course we haven't been to war since WWII . They just call them "engagements" instead.

Ah, thanks for clearing that up! As i'd been understanding it from some people here, Obama was the sole reason America is being run into the ground. And something about islamic conspiracys.

Hence why I said propose and not introduce ... but I agree with you Kmar, it's a common mistake to think the head of state can do whatever he wants ...
