I wasn't referring to the writing, merely the order. I thought that was obvious since we're comparing it to the american way of writing it, which doesn't really have or follow any standards at all.

The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. No because americans are lazy so for them it is shorter to say July 8th than 8th of July. Or is could be another american independance issue like the number of ounces in a gallon or which side of the road you drive on. They wanted to be different from their colonial masters. *shrugs.
