Counsellor/shrink.

Failing that, self-empowerment; self-defense course.

And if you ever see the prick, bash them - and tell the cops you confronted them verbally (you invent the story) and that they threatened you and then hit you - smash your head into a wall or whatever if need be, it'll hurt and will spill your blood but at least you'll put a rapist in the klink.  It was self defense, guv.

Please, please do not follow the bolded advice. Don't for a second think a Law Enforcement Officer or even a Judge will simply turn a blind eye to you assaulting someone who holds a sexual assault charge.
I didn't say they would, I merely said that the someone is less likely to press charges against you.
That's not at all true. Someone who would assault, sexually, a trusted friend is the kind of person likely to use whatever means they can to take someone down attempting revenge. Suggesting to Hurricane that assaulting someone, because of their actions which had no direct connection to him is a good idea to help his friend get over the ordeal is just silly. That's just setting Hurricane up for a nice lawsuit and a fat lip.

The last thing his friend needs right now is more assaulting and more attention on this subject. Beating the daylights out of her 'attacker' will not help you or her. She needs professional help, not renegade justice.
Professional help should be a last resort. What you want to do is get her out of the victim role, sending her to a shrink will probably not make her feel better. While professional help might help her cope with it in general, overall the process will take longer. If Hurri finds a proper DIY approach, that is still preferable.

Also, deducting form the OP I assumed the girl has not pressed charges yet and has reservations about doing so. What I meant was that after you've roughed him up, you can threaten him with still pressing charges, basically leaving him with two options: leave the matter at his broken arms or whatever, or let him press charges for the beating in which case the girl will also press charges.

Yeah, lets forget that, you know, counselers are totally worthless and have no idea how to handle these cases, not like they know anything about these things .

Sorry to say, but if this scenario plays out and he has a good lawyer, he could probably get out of the whole thing. The court may see the "Sexual Assault" charge as a last resort to counter sue. I can't even believe you are suggesting he break the law to deal with someone that has in no way affected him directly. This will not prove anything to his friend or make her feel better, unless she enjoys watching her trusted friends Assault her and those around her. She was a victim of Sexual Assault, the last thing she needs is 'friends' complicating an already fragile situation. Ger her professional help.

And remember, if Hurricane is the one who roughs this dude up, he is the one that faces the crime, this will not make her sexual assault case look any better.

I'm in no way a psychologist either, but after watching a close friend go through this exact ordeal, it has taught me.

seek professional help.
I stood in line for four hours. They better give me a Wal-Mart gift card, or something.  - Rodney Booker, Job Fair attendee.
